>What is Algorand
Algorand is an open source permissionless public blockchain based on a pure proof-of- stake consensus protocol—the first of its kind to support the scale, open participation, and transaction finality for billions of users.
https://www.algorand.com/
https://community.algorand.org/blog/what-is-algorand-quick-guide-and-overview/

>Silvio Micali, founder and developer of Algorand:
Silvio Micali has been on the faculty at MIT, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department, since 1983. Silvio’s research interests are cryptography, zero knowledge, pseudorandom generation, secure protocols, and mechanism design and blockchain. In particular, Silvio is the co-inventor of probabilistic encryption, Zero-Knowledge Proofs, Verifiable Random Functions and many of the protocols that are the foundations of modern cryptography.
In 2017, Silvio founded Algorand, a fully decentralized, secure, and scalable blockchain which provides a common platform for building products and services for a borderless economy. At Algorand, Silvio oversees all research, including theory, security and crypto finance.
Silvio is the recipient of the Turing Award (in computer science), of the Gödel Prize (in theoretical computer science) and the RSA prize (in cryptography). He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Engineering, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and Accademia dei Lincei.
Silvio has received his Laurea in Mathematics from the University of Rome, and his PhD in Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley.

Most people won't get the tokenomics. It's basically a program to reward those who buy early and stack interest, yet also keeps the price repressed for new buyers. Rather than inflating the actual price of the coin the system is designed for you to accumulate more algos and claim more rewards over time... Then at the end of the inflation period you'll likely see a large bump in price due to the max circulation being reached. It's a long term play for people with big capital to make a big load of cash. I love it, that's why I'm here.

I turned a very small sum of money into a lot more and made a few small 30% gains on small amounts which is nothing special right now. Too much anguish for someone like me to be always trying to swing trade.

Also not sure if anyone else is bullish on PRQ, but just pointing out some hopium to us PRQ holders. PRQ/ALGO are my largest two holds and I didn't realize they were teamed up. PRQ automates triggers like a reverse oracle so I wonder how that will play out as ALGO grows...

I hope well for everyone. I have a small stack that was part of my dinosaur holds of Particl myself. They are building a DECOM marketplace that's going live soon with a testnet up. Basically a decentralized Ebay or Amazon with self governance and little to no fee's with a huge emphasis on privacy. Very limited supply and it's on no one's radar but I don't expect that for long. I expect it to pass it's old brief ATH of close to 50 with a tiny bit of interest directed at a live market.

Check out ESGC while youre at it, looks posed to move up in the coming weeks. Its Eros STX which is linked to Mzaalo(sp?) through the Lullas, they just teamed up with Algorand. They make movies and have their own OTT (like Netflix) with over 30m paid users, they had like 600m rev last year and current MC is around 850-900m whereas ROKU and NFLX trade at well over 10x revenue. They just made that Greenland film with Gerard Butler, getting great ratings.

basically if all 10 billion ALGO were in the wild right now with bitcoins current MCAP each one would be something in the 60's. With the current circulating supply the price would be in the hundreds. So the important think is if ALGO starts making real money by doing real things for ventures it's going to quickly move on ETH and may eclipse BTC because of actual use.
