I want an unironic compound/citadel with just me and my bros. Like to build a small city surrounded by wilderness and free from annual property taxes is my only ideal kind of domestic living.

Let's face it Korea doesn't have megacities and Japan will be way down their path of decline by the time you get rich

I’m getting a nice apartment, that’s all. Something in the city.

I lived in a slightly smaller version of this at one point in my childhood.
Aside from the house being near a creek and there being lots of cool animals to find, the only thing significantly good about the house was that we could invite a bunch of families over for dinner.
That's pretty much it.
There's a lot that needs to be maintained, and and you have to deal with all the same homeowner issues anyone else faces.
Even if I had a 7 figure or 8 figure networth, I would never buy a house like this.

Nah probably just buy some land off my neighbors.

I have a new structural steel house being finished. I couldn't imagine paying $500k+ and still having standard framing throughout.

>> No.28634616

I really don't want to. I live alone, and a house that big seems like a nightmare to maintain

Extend that roof out so that it covers the whole staircase and walkway and make the deck big enough to accomodate a table and chairs for outdoor dining and we have a deal.

Depends on the market but not usually. Plus you can make sure they don't cut any corners if you build it.

Depends, if land is cheap and labor is plentiful, better value.

If it's sellers market, labor tight, then yes.

I can't tell you how retardedly big the lawn was to mow, along with the slope of course.
Also, this was in Delaware, whoever built the house did not care that the soil was sopping wet almost year round.
Every summer the house was covered in these brown stinkbugs, and they would crawl all througout the house.
There somethings that you just can't escape through architecture.

Anon If I make it you can bet your ass im gonna hire a landscaping company to do all that bullshit. The only dirt ill touch would be a personal garden.
