You shouldn't stake less than 1-2K BNT at a time.

I should monitor the contract address here:

Check each transaction and look at the gas price. When the gas price of a previous stake is low that is when you stake. Usually early morning UTC 00:00 - 03:00

Yes, you need to account for double transactions. One to get staked and one to unstake. You want to optimize the amount of time you have to remain stakes to see a profitable return in the shortest time frame. To do this you need to wait for low gas time periods and stake a larger amount of coins so the rewards accumulate fast enough to cover both in and out fees plus what you actually take away at the end of the day.

Only if you expect to stake your coins for a long time AND you absolutely minimize your gas prices.

The trick to BNT staking is having a big dick stack.

Your other option is to wait for the L2 solution to come online for reduced fees. At that point stake away.

If you are in this thread you have already made it. Rome wasn't built in a day.

You can leave it staked for as long as you want. Only thing you will have to do is come back periodically and manually restake your rewards / fees in order to compound. Make sure you wait to restake when you have accumulated a big enough rewards stack to make it worth the fees to do so.

This is true, but I believe that there will also be a subset of people who will want to buy the dip or secure their spot in the pools. Smaller pools will make those who are still in the pool generate higher APR which in turn makes entering it more interesting for outsiders.
If people pull liquidity out of ONLY bancor, there'd be a fundamental issue, but with the entire market winding down for hibernation I don't think we'll drop that much, certainly not as much as moonshot vaporware tokens, because the core service of Bancor still exists even if the locked value decreases (and indeed it will encourge an increase in locked value by increasing rewards proportionally)
I think the biggest chads will be minted in the interim of the bear-bull cycle. I hate using the term after plebbit got rekt so hard while parroting it, but BNT is excellent for diamond hands.

Usually when you provide liquidity to a DEX, the changing relative values of the tokens in the pool you are supplying to can mean you actually end up withdrawing fewer tokens than you put in. So you give 100 LINK to uniswap and earn 5 link in fees, but can still only withdraw 92 link at the end because of what’s called “impermanent loss”.
Bancor gives you insurance against this so that you will always withdraw 100 link + your gains, but to make it so that you have paid your share into the insurance you have to stake for 100 days for full protection.

Impermanent loss protection covers stakers from impermanent loss (value of your stake going down due to fluctuations in price ratio between the staked pair). It is paid for by the protocol with fees collected from users, so the 100 day vesting period is to ensure that fees collected will offset the cost of your impermanent loss. Genius system, really.

Fees are currently far above the cost of IL (see pic), so so far it has proven to be 100% sustainable.

Big brain explanation:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbUqcbNqQ-Y

#1 IL protection. Not as impactful during a bull market but larger stacks looking generate revenue from providing liquidity will obviously want IL protection when things settle down or go south for a while.

#2 Single sided staking. Wanna stay all-in on your token of choice and still provide liquidity? Bancor is your guy.

#3 Vortex. You get vBNT from staking your BNT that you can swap for different coins if you think they will outperform BNT, then swap a portion of the tokens back to vBNT to unlock your BNT stake when you want to.

#4 Massive growth in TVL, #1 pool for locked Chainlink. Marketcap hasn't gone up proportionately. Sitting around 500m while competitors with inferior tech and higher swap fees sit at 10x that.

#5 Working demo on arbitrum testnet with 50x lower gas/swap fees.

#6 EOS bridge up and running, actively building a Polkadot bridge

#7 Sweet sweet passive income with insane APY% (for now). Tons of linkwhales chilling in LPs.

Need I say more?

>Bancor.network redesign (coming soon): limit orders, new trader features & one-click LP migration from other AMMs
