1. Governance Council members are term limited. They can only be a part of the governance council for 6 years. Two terms of 3 years.
2. Currently, only GC members can run nodes, but this will change in the future. Since the network is relatively young, Hedera will only allow permissioned nodes. Once the market cap of Hbar gets to a level that the council is confident that no single entity can buy 1/3 of the supply then they will allow permissionless nodes.
3. There is also quite a bit of transparency and I imagine this will become more important in the future as more adopt hashgraph. All the notes for council meetings are public. Lastly, It is next to impossible for them to add more coins in the future.
