- Chain Analysis released a 110 page report about dark net activities. Monero was not mentioned a single time, and White House Market was also not mentioned (and flat out ignored) despite being the current largest dark net marketplace. I have close to 500XMR. Been in crypto since a liiiiitle before MtGox but havn't done much more than accumulating.

You know what shorting is, right? The price is lower because of the increased sell pressure. Shorting is only possible as a service by an exchange. Withdraw your coins so they have less liquidity to play with.

Monero can't be shorted as much as stocks, so I don't think it is the major price driving force.

Lets say you have 10 XMR in 2030 when they are expected to be worth $40,000 a pop. You don't want to pay tax on $400,000 so you cash out what you need, let's say $20,000 on a second wallet. Sure you pay tax on $20,000 but you avoid capital gains on what you never declared.

The real endgame is never going back to fiat and paying everything with XMR, sidelining governments entirely.

No. The exchange would have no way of knowing where the Monero you sent back came from. Monero's blockchain isn't like Bitcoin where the wallet addresses appear in the transaction.

Exactly. All the exchange would know is that you withdrew Monero to a Monero public address. But what happens after the withdrawal is unknown.
