>What is Litecoin?

From Wikipedia: Litecoin is a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency and open-source software project released under the MIT/X11 license. Litecoin was an early bitcoin spinoff or altcoin, starting in October 2011. In technical details, Litecoin is nearly identical to Bitcoin.

>Why invest?

>Reliable and tested coin that's almost as old as BTC
>Cheaper fees compared to BTC
>Widely accepted on reputable sites like Paypal
>Grayscale investment firm has bought 200 million dollars worth in the recent months and are still accumulating
>MWB privacy update coming soon
>Has not reached its ATH yet like BTC or ETH have
>Top ten crypto for close to a decade

>Where to buy?

Any crypto exchange really. LTC has tenure and can be reliably bought just about anywhere. If you're new, here's some suggestions.

>Coinbase
>Blockfolio
>Kraken
>Binance
>Paypal

I cannot think or comprehend of anything more cucked than selling your LTC. Honestly, think about it rationally. You are buying, minin', collecting and posting your LTC portfolio for at least some years solely so it can go and get ravaged by another shitcoin. All the hard work you put into your beautiful little portfolio- reading her cryptoscam rates at bedtime, making her go to the safe, making sure she had a healthy gain, protecting her, playing with her. All of it has one simple result: her gains is more enjoyable for the shitcoins shills that will eventually buy her before she moons.

Raised the perfect LTC stack? Great. Who benefits? If you're lucky, a random shitcoin who had nothing to do with the way she grew up, who you sell her for. You will cry for her mooning body every night. Pajeets gets the benefits of her precious and lite personality that came from the way you stacked her.

As a man who has sold his LTC stack, you are LITERALLY dedicating at least 3 years of your life simply to raise an LTC stack for another man to enjoy. It is the ULTIMATE AND FINAL cuck. Think about it logically.

eletricity costs are not a problem I get eletricity almost for free ... we live in a farm so the state helps us out.
I can make upwards of 4$ a day on bitcoin before eletricity costs .. but I can be using my computer.

anons what software do I use ?
what returns should I expect for a month ?
is it worth to mine litecoing over BTC even if I can make more dollars per day on bitcoin seen as litecoins is expected to have big value incress in the next years?
or sould I just mine BTC and convert it to litecoin ?

rough maths but here goes:

BTC 2017 mcap $335,000,000,000 / 21,000,000 BTC = approx $16,000 each

$335,000,000,000 / 84,000,000 LTC = approx $4000

obviously there weren't 21million BTC in 2017, and there won't be 84million LTC this cycle, but rough maths. that $16k number was outperformed 25% so the LTC estimate corresponds to $5k

>> No.28518522

I'm still reading and learning, I bought LTC at 200 and now again at 120, so it's a guaranteed profit right now. what I'm trying to make sense of is how high it will go, and when will that happen. of course, that is the million dollar question, for LTC and literally everything else.
I'm just reentering the crypto space after a few years out of it. I remember Charlie talking about the Lightning network, atomic swaps, and color tokens, among other things, and that was my rationale behind buying and believing in LTC's profitability. it was indeed technically similar to BTC and those changes would only cement that further. unfortunately, those haven't come to fruition, have they? and the technical details are why I invest, a supposed price tether that seems to me to exist only in intention and not in actuality doesn't jive with me. just my two cents.
I see LTC rising, especially when you see institutional buyers getting into it, and the fact that it is already accepted as payment in several places and that it has weight and status in the crypto world. but do you really think 8k EOY is realistic? it would be great, but a simple correlation to BTC's price just doesn't cut it for me.

>supposed price tether
believe it or not, correlations matter, and there's nothing more correlated to the big daddy BTC. mindful, correlation is not causation, but the similarities between the two means anybody who likes BTC will also like LTC, strengthening that bond. in fact, I'll hazard to say that Litecoin does a better job performing the function that Bitcoin was originally intended for
>do you really think 8k EOY is realistic?
never said EOY. I believe Litecoin's present cycle could conclude at the 8k figure, short of it, or in excess of it, though I won't guarantee EOY. to do so is to believe this present cycle will play out in the same 4year pattern of past cycles, and of that I'm not certain. this cycle being bigger than previous, with far wider adoption, could blow on for years. With all the talk about cycles, assuming LTC hits $4k, what will be the low? I'm a poorfag with 1.5 LTC. If it hits $4k, should I sell and hope it dips to buy even more or just hold what I have? I know I'm not going to make it with LTC, so I'm looking at it as an opportunity to make a few grand, but I don't want to sell this year if it could be worth tens of thousands of dollars in a few years.

I remember when I was new to this stuff and thought better tech meant victory. It's a lot more about network effects, name recognition, real world usage, etc. Most of the shit in the top 20 right now won't be remembered in a few years. with the DAO and every masternode wannabe trying to emulate it I promise you DASH isn't going anywhere. It has much stronger market penetration than what you can see on coinmarketcap. All those coins didnt have paradigm shifting tech. Ethereum did and look where it is biting the heals of Bitcoin. What a PoSe dApp coin brings is the end goal of all crypto. I'm talking replacing google level power.

>> No.28530965

If it goes that high I intend to sell my initial and keep the remainder in LTC until it's enough to make it. The thing I like about LTC is that it has something that no other alt have: Its price has stayed within a range of Bitcoin's for almost a decade. You could hodl it for another decade and be reasonably sure you'll have good gains. Everything else just exists to increase your sats. But LTC has proven itself to be more than just a sat accumulator.

>> No.28531006

>>28530367
Okay, but if your whole position is that the best tech should win out, will you jump ship off of DASH for some inevitably better protocol in a year from now? I'm not shitting on your picks the way you're shitting on mine, and i'm sure you'll make plenty of money if that's your goal--but if your position is that it's all about the tech, and not the principles that I mentioned above, you'll be hopping from newfangled thing to newfangled thing from now until forever. Some new project will always be better before your old project penetrates its intended market. That's why adoption, consumer trust, and name recognition matter.

no that not my whole position. I agree with what your saying. Infact what your saying is exactly why I have so much faith in Dash. With the DAO the community is unified and pushes for positive changes and development. If some new protocol came out that serious advantage there would be a huge push to implement it. With LTC, BTC etc. you're relying on a centralized shadow gov to make the best changes to the system. Thats why advantages tech rollouts are so slow and why you have fork wars. I'm never jumping the DASH ship and its still early to hop on which is why I tell my friends and family about it. Even my boomer parents can use it like paypal.
