Does RL ever crash? It’s a little bit of a mirage due to liquidity and card grade obscuring the actual price you’d get for trying to transact a USea without getting JUSTed by either the buyer OR the seller.

Many players I know already have the goods (mana rocks, dualies, that-one—copy-RL-EDH-card) and aren’t in the market to buy at all

So I figure if tire buying graded (or you go in person and pull out your loupe) you can easily add to the collection and worst case it will deflate, but nice never tried to sell and am concerned gains would vanish after years of jacking off the the reserved list price index.

Any thoughts, fellow planeswalkers/speculators/ fa/tg/uys?

It's not a mirage. You just need to have good visions. We were in an ice age for a while, but things are starting to thaw out. Some would call it the dark ages, but I think we have a bright future. Legends will be made of people who continue to hold reserve list cards. Gains are potentially unlimited. I don't think we'll ever see an exodus from magic cards. Just make sure you strong hold.

I haven't bought a magic product in the past 10 years. I simply buy reserved list cards on the secondary market. Fuck WOTC - they aren't getting a cent from me.

Pauper format existing has destroyed any confidence I had in selling my cards. I buy other people's collections when they want out, and slowly amass a fortune in cards I bought in bulk.

it's just a self-fulfilling prophecy. it's definitely scummy to a certain extent, particularly if he's giving specific numberrs and returns like pyramid schemes, but not really different than any other investment/business risk. it would be unreasonable to expect land developers to buy land, make a neighborhood, and not advertise or profit from it.
