it got bid up like crazy during the EV craze after they released their data on creating reliable solid state lithium batteries by creating a flexible ceramic that prevents dendrites (an issue that people have been trying to solve since the 1970s) put simply, dendrites are like little "trees" that inevitably grow out of lithium that will grow pass through the divider and short out the battery over time. lithium ion batteries have been reaching their peak - there are advances being made, but the curve is slowing down substantially / there is not as much progress to be made in lithium ion any longer. solid state lithium was only theorized since the 1970s, but nobody could ever do it because you'd get dendrites - it was a technology that was always 10 years away, sort of like nuclear fusion is talked about. except now the tech is here + the ability to produce it consistently.
one of their competitors wrote a fud article for seekingalpha with a lot of weak arguments and assumptions - some directly in contrast with the presentation that they gave; such as that the temperature would affect output/longevity, but quantumscape tested the cells in a wide range to as low as -30C with minimal loss
read the lawsuits - the lawsuits specifically say "on such and such date this seeking alpha article was written that said quantumscape batteries could never be used for electric vehicles and overstated the technology yadda yadda"
these lawsuits are filed by lawfirms where they just file hundreds of lawsuits but never actually go to court. it's ambulance chasing bs
QS did get overbought for it's realistic current value when it was over $100, but now below $60 it's at a bargain, especially if Singh gives a good update on Tuesday the 16th (their earnings date)
one of the main things that drew my attention to it was consecutive dark pool sheets where there were $1M+ positions being bought in calls for 2/19
daily MACD also just turned green

You got it backwards. Current boom is caused by Fed. They are buying up companies and junk bonds left and right which increases cashflow on the market. Add to this astronomical debt increase caused by excessive spending in past few months.
This is all by design and the endgame is us becoming slaves to shadow government. But everyone is happy and clapping, because line goes up.

Yes, I know that they're inflating asset values, but is it not also the job of the Fed to control inflation? I believe they state it's at something like 1.6% of their 2% target but I think the true figure is much higher than that and at some point people will realise just how much less their dollar buys? What then?

Can't raise rates, I don't think, UBI? I am worried in the medium term.

This is what I never understood. Why would you baghold something just because it dumped and you want to recuperate your losses. If you just sold for a loss, then put the money into TQQQ (or some better memes) instead, you'd be even in way less time.

The thing about genomics is you have to pick winners yourself, preferably two or three tops. I went through ARKG components, been trading them for a few months and concluded which are really worth holding. PACB is solid because it already sells well and they're working on a genome sequencer that could have a big impact. But these stocks are volatile, mostly due to being fueled by hype and expectations.

>>28494818
For me the only reason why I'd baghold a stock like this would be to make sure to be in early on the next pump. I'm not sure if I have enough patience to pull this off (seeing a good occasion to buy something that actually goes up usually makes me dump my old bags, which is a good thing), but I guess it might still work.

am I missing something or are 20% gains pretty easy to achieve in the markets. Can't you just buy and hold certain stocks for like 2 years and cash them out securing the gain and compound it over time?

It's pretty easy to find stocks that are going to profitable in a 1-2 year period no?

I don't understand why People like MARTIN SHKRELI advise small time investors to stay away from the Market? Are they talking about like day trading or something?

My brother asked me to help him build his own PC and when we were looking at components u was stunned how GPUs inflated in price so much. I bought my 1070ti at $350 during a Christmas sale and somehow they're now worth $550 or something. Absolutely ridiculous. And now all the new lines are perma sold out. Ended up getting a budget gigabyte one with the rest of his PC being pretty solid value and told him to save for a solid one and wait for a price drop.
At some point I think if they were smart, Nvidia and AMD would release a midrange line like Apple had to end up doing with their iPhones but NVDA/AMD have a fraction of the competition which is why the cards are so goddamn expensive.

I'm a fucking retard and new to this but what's wrong in investing into ETFs like QQQ and QYLD and reinvesting the dividends back into it (+ putting more money into them every month with whatever you have that's free to invest), not touch the money until you become a millionaire in a decade? And even with taxes, it shouldn't factor that much, right?

If it's that easy, why don't most people do this?

If TA actually worked consistently, Quant and HFT firms would be all over that shit. And they actually are, extracting every penny from it, leaving only noise in the price graph.

Just give up, TA does not work on any symbol that has any Quant or HFT company presence. It may work on some shitty crypto shitcoins or OTC stuff, but not for ETFs.
