Uranium miners are the next big sector pump. Big money is preloading their bags. can anyone confirm or refute? just create a contingent limit sell order with a sell price that's 100% more than the last price and set the criteria to be that the price is ~80% more than the current price.

>are you meming?
Nope. Here's the best advice you'll ever hear on this site. SSO is a 2x leveraged ETF based on the S&P 500 and it is one of the few leveraged ETFs that existed before the Great Financial Crisis of 2008. Had you bought SSO at the literal top of the market before the recession in October 2007, as of this moment, you would have gains of 176%. Had you bought the underlying SPY on the same day you would have gains of 98%. So had you bought the leveraged ETF, even at the worst possible time, you still would have ended up with almost double the gains.
Remember this the next time somebody throws shade on leveraged ETFs because of volatility decay. Buy the index based leveraged ETFs and win. Simple as that.
All ETFs suffer from volatility decay including unleveraged ones. By your logic you shouldn't buy unleveraged 1x ETFs either because 0.5x would "decay" even less. But that logic implies 0.25x would be even better still, and so on. This is obviously absurd taken to it's conclusion but that is the simpleton tier logic being advocated.
What's being missed is there is nothing magical about 1x leverage. As a matter of fact, historically in most market environments worldwide 2x daily leverage is about the sweet spot. The only glaring exception is Japan where 0.5x would bizarrely have been most appropriate.
The conventional wisdom behind these ETFs as "trading tools" is simply not true. All these ETFs do is to increase your beta exposure, in much the same way that buying high beta stocks increase your beta exposure. Practically speaking, there's little difference between a portfolio of stocks with an average beta of 2 and a 2x levered S&P 500 ETF. The risks are the same. Yet, no one goes around calling AMD (which has a beta of 2.83) a single day "trading tool" or a scam. In fact, holding AMD is way riskier than holding a 3x S&P 500 ETF!
This would be known if anti-leveraged ETF blogers actually read the literature or God forbid thought for themselves

More or less. A lot of people on here go all in with 3x stuff like TQQQ and SOXL but that might be too much for you hence why I suggested 30% of your account in SSO, that only places your overall account at 1.3x[1] which isn't that big of a deal. Just a little to juice your returns, make sure you beat the S&P. If you like it you can always add more later.

The downside to holding TQQQ for 100 years is that the market has fat tails and one of those years NASDAQ will go down 33% and that position will be wiped out. Though TQQQ is great for very long term swing trading imo. >insanely high in demand in not only iPhones but computers and automobiles as well

I just wanna give my appreciation to this little guy. This guy always somehow manages to only go up aside from the most recent pullback. Thanks TSM.

I hold a sizable amount of SOXL and I've given a lot of thought to this problem since SOXL is even greater volatility danger than TQQQ. Like the other anon said, we do have circuit breakers and that's a good start. 7% down, 13% down, then 20% down and the market is closed the rest of the day. Of course there is the possibility of a gap down but that's always a possibility with leverage. I've made my piece by setting a moving stop loss right at the 200 day moving average on the underlying SOXX. That gets breached in a day and I'm out, or a week, month, year, whatever. So even if the market plunged, as long as there is some liquidity I'd get out. Is there a possibility that I get wiped, sure, but again that's always a possibility with leverage of any type yet people still use it, even the big boys.
Another option so to speak would be using literal options for your leverage. You could just buy leaps using the delta to calculate a 3x position and roll as needed. If the underlying plunged in one day even more than 33% you wouldn't be wiped out since you'd still have the option along with its extrinsic value and could wait it out.

power generation insider here, California and the north east are FUCKED. specifically the NE is what I'll be talking about but I'll reference cali too.

NE infrastructure under Cuomo and de Blasio have fucked the region in terms of power usage. We told those retards in 2016 that if they shut down any more PP's (non renewable power plants) that their grid couldn't take it. what have they done? they've shut down more plants than what their grid can handle. now they've mandated that only electric heater can be used from now on. they've also shut down their black start systems and now they're unusable because they've sat too long and the fuel mixture inside has turned to sludge. Expect blackouts within the next 5 years at the latest. because renewable energy CANNOT take over like they keep telling everyone it will. For reference there are 100 MW or the equivalent of 4000 homes worth of spare power in the NE grid, that's how close they are to a full blackout. they're not flirting with disaster at this point they're ramming their tongue down it's throat.

Cali's grid is also having major fluctuations after we told them again that they shouldn't shut down anything else. They contracted Tesla of all god forsaken companies to help stabilize their grid. what did they suggest? turn back on more power plants and make a battery bank to help with the fluctuations. WELL, they built the bank but didn't turn any more plants back on. guess how long the bank lasts? 30 mins to 2 hours at the highest and lowest draw. the batteries aren't expected to last 10 years.

Reposting this a 2nd and final time since threads were split

All right guys, I did a bit more digging on a ticker that's been discussed here a lot recently to try to make sense of what's going. Some of you are calling it a spooky ghost business, but I think it might be more apt to call it a phoenix business...or at least it's trying to be a phoenix. I'm going to refrain from naming it because I think a certain shill is right about there being a lot of money to be made on it, and I don't want to attract any more heat to it than necessary.

From what I see, this firm was a business that failed in 2018. The reason it has now been revived is because a couple of rich guys are looking for a tax break. The firm went down in flames with massive losses, and because of American tax structure, if the firm were to in the future become a profitable business, those past losses could be used to avoid taxes on those future profits.

So if you're a rich guy looking to start a new business, you acquire ownership of this failed firm. Not because the business or it's assets are of any value whatsoever, but because you can use it as a tax dodge. Whoever these guys trying to revive this ticker are, they have no affiliation with the past business using the name. They're purely trying to start a new business and pay as little tax as possible by using this businesses past losses to avoid taxes on future gains.

The problem is that the SEC knows what these guys are doing. So basically, these guys have to pretend that they're actually trying to revive the business until they legally acquire ownership of it, and then once they have it they can start a new business using the ticker as a shell to dodge taxes. As long as they can successfully navigate the court process, which it seems likely they can based on our shill's bullishness and on the net worth of the guys trying to pull this thing off, then there actually is huge money to be made on this thing.

Any Questions?

Am I stupid, or is this example unneccesary complicated?

>Because settlement for the BSX transaction did not occur until Thursday (T+1), there was no cash to cover the purchase of JNJ on Tuesday and the sale of those shares on Wednesday. To avoid freeriding, the investor would have had to wait until settlement—Thursday—before offloading the JNJ shares.

Is it the selling of JNJ that's the problem or the buying of JNJ? This is the first time I hear about these rules as a european. My broker doesn't have any information about this, are these rules we have to be careful not to break too, or is this just the case of dumbfuck americans not being able to design foolproof brokerage systems?

This ending is pretty isolated though and I prefer doomsday clock over this perpetua nonsense. I liked Dark Knights Metal because of the spin off 'Tales from the Dark Multiverse'. Just Youtube 'ComicsExplained' and dive into anything. The guy is pretty dope. Especially when it comes to keeping up with marvel. This Knull crossover story is fucking epic.

x86 will effectively be a dead platform in 3-5 yrs

It'll just be in consoles, servers & enthusiast hardware. The future is ARM & RISC-V

I watch Comicsexplained too, pretty good channel.
Knull is shit and I refuse to partake in it because I've seen enough DBZ power creep shit from it already and I don't want my favorite Marvel hero ruined.
Tales of the Dark Multiverse were pretty good as a self contained thing, kind of like DCeased. Dr Manhattan becoming such a big part of Batman who laughs is what killed the story for good.

awww dude this corssover event with knull is pretty epic. Especially the black panther crossover. I understand being adverse to it but the story overshadows the fact that thor doesn't outright defeat a symbiote god.

Yeah but Marvel has been trying to milk symbiotes different ways for years now
Agent Venom and Anti Venom were the only good things to come from that universe, the Poisons were a good concept but shit at the end and Knull is completely out of left field and brings Venom up to a place where he really shouldn't be.
I would have preferred they make him start hanging out with the magic types and be something like Etrigan, seems like he'd fit in a lot better there.

A market crash is impossible these days. They halt trading and the government starts buying stocks. It’s called the plunge protection team for a reason.

Hell with all the money printing we will likely never again see a numerical bear market only an inflationary one.

Well, you're taking advice from strangers on a laotian finger painting board. Lots of good tips here, but lots of bag-dumping too. Do your own DD.
