Bullfucking shit. Most games value not only doesnt go up, but most of them actually go down. You can get cheaper n64 and psx games these days in japan, brand new for a 1/10 of what they costed during their release year. Lets not even talk about adjusting for inflation.
Only a few rare games get more value with time. Most are a really really shit investment. Like waiting 20 years for a 2x. Or sometimes even losing money.

I mean, I’m 31 so I grew up with all this shit yet I have zero feelings of nostalgia over the blurry ass CRTs and composite cables and broken N64 controller thumbsticks. I played the shit out of Rare’s classics on the N64 back when I was a kid but now when I feel like replaying them I do so in an emulator or on the Xbox and it’s a way better experience. I don’t see the point of replaying a game if you’re not going to improve upon the original experience. And you have way less clutter junking up your house when you have a PC that plays all those old consoles and all your games are archived digitally.
