That's the whole point, there are no miners so there are no fees. Everyone has their own blockchain. Representatives are encouraged to operate their servers by their stake in nano, they want fair transactions so their investment is safe.

Smart contracts are for geeks. Normies don't know shit about smart contracts and don't want to know. The average person just wants something that can transact with on a daily basis.
