Why is everyone on here wasting their time with garbage pump and dump shitcoins. I've been able to make above the minimum wage with just over $4000 of savings just writing call options on volatile stocks. It takes *at most* 5 hours a week collectively to do, and actually pays you a somewhat consistent income. Literally all you have to do is not be a total retard and you'll make it.

Last time I got rekt was about a week ago when Nokia was restricted. The stock tanked and I had to sell at a loss-- I wasnt able to write any calls on it to lower my cost basis

otherwise you dont really lose much money if you play it safe-- the real problem is losing out on gains. With writing options you limit the amount of money you can make on a trade. Sometimes the stock runs 50%, and you get left behind with like a 10% return. It sucks, but at least it wont blow up your account

Actually would like some advice on this. I only came here for the shitcoin, but once I started doing long-term stock I made more money quicker. As a neet, I don't have much else to do but learn.

You fucking retards he’s already said it. Pick a volatile stock with absurd IV, buy weekly calls, pray you go above breakeven. It’s that fucking simple. NGMI...

I'll go shill some free online resources instead

1. If you're retarded and have no clue what writing options means: https://www.investopedia.com/terms/w/writing-an-option.asp

2. Literally just a list of stocks to play for free, filtered specifically for securing the best premium:
https://www.barchart.com/options/covered-calls

3. literally just read the article and then look at the stock filter I posted the links to. A little technical analysis is needed to make sure you don't take a position at the absolute top, but otherwise these two sites are all youre gonna need. You'll be able to make anywhere from 10 to 20% per trade, see for yourself.

Based thread anon. How does this compare to margin trading? I blew 20K and have 1K left and nothing to lose lmao

>> No.28477113

>>28476878
I wouldn't touch margin with a 10 foot pole

This can be somewhat risky if you pick extremely volatile penny stocks, but even then the premium you get paid can cut the cost basis and soften the loses

Do yourself a favor and at least give it a chance-- do your own research of course, beyond the links posted

Good luck, you can make it.

I usually go for consistent stocks that I hold 100 shares of while writing the call option.

I'd say writing a call on a volatile stock is the opposite of what you want to do, unless you're leaving something out.

>> No.28479561

>>28478506
The premium you get on those is super fucking low compared to your investment. Like 2-3%.

>> No.28480095

>>28478506
For risky stocks Just make sure the premium is large enough to provide a cushion for any expected losses

It's all about the cost basis...

On top of that, try to find out what is causing the volatility. determine if you think it'll remain volatile long enough to harvest enough premium to sink your cost basis, and eventually leave the position comfortably
