Historically we have a government that likes to overreach into all of our shit. So surprise surprise the government completely fucked up legalization. At the start product was shitty quality, was shorted, and was extremely expensive.
Basically what happened was that people got hyped because "holy shit I can buy weed in a grocery store" and then got disappointed when the government completely fucked it up. Shortly after everyone went back to their black market source and a metric fuck ton of "legal" medical marijuana dispensaries popped up online.
It might be different for you guys because a lot of your states have dabbled in legalization and your government overreach is a lot less severe than ours. You guys probably won't have much benefit to buy black market over store bought weed because it will probably be fairly priced and not regulated up your asshole.
