I guess I'm desperate enough at $16 to bump the thread waiting for that anon to see it, but I'm autistic enough to bump it with autistic shit so here is my collection of retrofuture images everyone. I hope you like them.

So my dad was one of the first online poker card printing producers in the US and he always enjoyed retrofuturism. So he was so happy to apply his fascination to his job

And when I was 11 for my birthday he printed me a deck of poker cards with retrofuture imagery on it and I became hooked

Him and I both knew I had no idea how to play poker so he wanted to introduce some card games to me while using retrofuture images to make it a bit more fun for me during the learning process

Even though he lost his job we still played poker with eachother for years with that same deck of cards he got for me on my 11th birthday, and l got into drawing out of inspiration from the cards

This story doesnt have a fascinating ending like I became a graphics designer because of some poker cards my dad bought me or I became a huge poker player but I did draw for a living at one point using commissions to give me gas money and I did gamble a hefty sum during my first and only trip to vegas. I just thought I'd share a time in my life nobody else would really care about except whoever, for whatever reason, is reading this right now.

And how he stole the only girlfriend I ever thought I had

It all started with us in class talking while the teacher was out

"Laurence, you're so quiet. Why dont you ever talk" the girl of my dreams Maria asked me in front of the class

"Because he's a pussy" the class chad Diego said aloud

"No I'm not"

Thats all I said and Diego got out of his chair and shoved me out my own. But what Diego never knew was that I sufferred from social anxiety, and just wanted to prove to the class and Maria I'm a person with a voice

I remember the teacher coming in and seeing Diego standing over me as I protected my face with my arms. She asked what was going on and told us to seperate.

After we were ordered to return to our desk, Diego a few minutes later passed a note to my desk telling me to fight him in front of everyone during recess. When i looked back at him I nodded my head yes in a way to let him know I was prepared, even though I knew he would destroy me

The very next class my only friend Rodney told me the funniest joke that I for some reason cannot recall today, but I remember a burst of laughter so loud that I got in trouble from the teacher whose name I forget today.

Being too young to have a detention center, our school dealt with bad behaviour by depriving us of recess. That day I needed recess the most, to prove my manlihood, the teacher held me back as everyone else played. But Diego wasnt in that class

And thats the story of how Diego stole Maria. I would later, in college, find out through an old classmate named Gregory that Diego died from a illness in highschool. I will never know what happened to Maria, but I am glad for Diego that he got to experience complete happiness at such a young age, given the fact he would be deprived of life only a few years later. He deserved it more than me, for sure.

When I was younger I got bullied pretty badly because I was pretty autistic/unathletic. I was a late bloomer, so being 5'7 and unathletic in 8th grade was not a fun experience. I was also super nerdy and didn't understand social cues, all I ever cared about was computers and shit like that and when I tried explaining it to other kids they would essentially scoff at me or intentionally misconstrue me. That was another pretty common thing, the Chad kids would give me shit for almost no reason at all other than the fact that I was an easy target. I can vividly remember trying to explain to another kid how we cannot describe color with language in about 6th grade and how amazing that was and all he did was argue with me. That was an experience that I now realize highlighted the intellectual disconnect between myself and my peers. I did not understand that I was thinking in a different frame of mind than my peers, and did not try to tone down my glowing brain so that I could be understood. I have now learned to do that, but it still frustrates me when people cannot keep up. Being misunderstood is a major disadvantage of intellectual giftedness.

Thats a very fascinating observation, anon. But I beg to differ. Though I do believe it is impossible to describe colors to blind people, I do believe that colors ca be made known to blind people by relating them to emotions based on scientific data that shoes green alleviates anxiety and red has been known to cause rage within animals. What do you think?
