28340710 No.28340710 [Reply] [Original]

The Avalanche blockchain, that promissed solve Ethereum's problems couldn't handle the network activity of the past few hours.
That is very unfortunate, because after pooling my PNG and my AVAX on Pangolin and see the the PNG price going down, I was unable to remove my coins from the pool.
Now, apparently all the transactions on the c-chain are compromised.

i refuse to believe avax has somehow discovered some ground-breaking technology that would allow it to operate under the same traffic as eth but with very cheap fees and very quick transactions. if it's faster and cheaper now, well duh, you don't have anywhere close to the same traffic

for every random node sought, a data transaction needs to take place across the network, this works fine in theory if there is a proportional amount of nodes to users, but if that balance is not maintained, like a significantly high ratio of users:nodes, the nodes won't be able to keep up, they themselves will become congested, raising fees across the board (right back at square 1). Then you start another transaction, and seek out more random nodes, some are closeby and others are far, this adds more congestion across the network trying to manage everything and everyone sending out these transaction requests, overloading a random series of nodes which are each a part of other random networks and just gets more complicated with each new user unless the proper balance is maintained.

It sounds like a system that could work with huge mainstream adoption, but it needs that adoption in order to function, which it doesn't have, and is now is rapidly losing incentive for people to buy into because the balance is already severely out of proportion.

FTM solves this.

Required Services

The full Ortelius pipeline requires the following services. This guide will not cover their installation but will discuss key configuration settings.

this is patently false. fantom ties multiple synthetic assets to real world counterparts and has a governance system ran by it's holders. it has no central operator dictating what can and cannot take place, and even encourages a user to lend and trade assets against itself and other synthetic assets. it's literally a money making machine with exceedingly low fees that cannot be beat BECAUSE of its decentralized nature. The lachesis protocol is the future of blockchain, it' the definition of decentralization, and allows for aspects of the network to be privately centralized (like the afghanistan and SA adoptions), while also allowing decentralized trade completely apart from said adoptions. it has the best of both worlds and 80% is unlocked. It's the most bullish coin you could hold and you should do your research instead of fudding with retarded nonsense like muh centralized shitcoin.

Yes, read:
https://github.com/ava-labs/ortelius
https://github.com/ava-labs/ortelius/blob/master/docs/deployment.md
It’s containerized, but from what I’ve heard they’re deploying things by hand.
In the future I’m sure we’ll see kubernetes config, but you have to realize this project is young and this is the first real big project that has been released. I don’t think scaling the indexer was on their radar until it cracked under load.

ETH is prone to DDOS attacks. The only reason gas fees are so high it's to make it monetarily imppsible to bring the entire network down.

And this is why Satoshi didn't add smart contracts or anything similar to BTC. It's a pain in the ass to cover all the possible exploits and security issues.

Smart contracts and DeFI are only used to shit out tokens for PnD schemes anyway.
