Obviously this includes all ages. Young families in their 20s and 30s will have a lot less.

But if your parents make it to their 60s and are not millionaires (including 401k value and the equity of their hopefully paid off house) then they are quite honestly complete failures in life.

families in the 20th century bought into the idea that popping out more kids was the key to happiness. this resulted in a lot of middle class families that were cash strapped and had few assets aside from their house. feeding and rearing crotch spawns for 18 years a piece isn't really a commitment that allows for shrewd moneymaking

We don't even look alike, have nothing in common, share none of the same likes or dislikes, personality is completely different. Tired of self-congratulatory boomers thinking of their children as "mini-me"s. You're selfish egotists. In reality no one wants anythign to do with you, let alone to be said to be merely a continuation of you, for whatever the fuck that means. Pull your head out of your asshole.

My parents will die alone and I told them why. I wouldn't even bother to go to their funeral. When they choke off I'll pay some jew lawyer to pay some high school dropout pothead to go through their hoard of dusty grimy shit, sell off whatever is valuable, and give me the difference after their fees. And that will be the extent I am willing to deal with them.

There isn't anyone on this earth who would even see me standing next to my parents, let alone grandparents, and think we're related, genetics aside, we're just that different as people. If a janitor and a banker both had blond hair and stood next to each other no one would think they could be related. That's 1/100 of the difference between myself and those miserable fuckups.

That's interesting. I went to college at 17, met my wife at 19, got married at 21, lived downtown in a major city enjoying partying/drinking/concerts/events till 24 and then we decided to start our family. I can guarantee I wouldn't have met my wife if I moved back to Mammy and Daddy, one because it was 2 hours away and secondly because no woman worth anything wants someone with no ambition. I was employed before I graduated college and had my first major gig the month I graduated.

By contrast?

All of my highschool friends who "stayed home to save for a house HURR DURR" are single losers. It's been 7-8 years since I moved out, where's the fucking house bro? I've invested 10k since August on an average salary, and these kids couldn't have bought a house by now? The reality is, they aren't saving for shit. They spend all their money on bullshit like 400$ shoes, vacations and travelling, brand new cars, general keeping up with the Jones' shit. When is it going to change? Some of these people are 25, 26, 27 now. Still living at home. No house. No investments, just a savings account.

Or even better the kids who's parents literally buy them a house cuz they want them out of the fucking house.

"The good times never end, bad things never happen". then that turns into "it's those lazy fucking millennials who ruined the good things we gave them' or "it's those immigrants and or whoever who are ruining things", note, you can still be opposed to immigration or whatever, but the reason for it shouldn't be "they would pay me higher wagies if not for them" because that's not the whole story. the real anser is, boomers like capitalism but don't understand how it works and don't own capitol and assume being a wagie is what capitalisms is about and get angry and point fingers when they get rekt and double-down on their delusions.

Most people are stupid, anon. I love my dad and I hold him in high esteem but he's a retard in a lot of ways. He spends roughly $1,500 a MONTH on a combination of beer, cigarettes and marijuana. He bought a modest house for $90,000 30 years ago-and can you guess what he owes on it now? $46,000! He's paid probably close to $200,000 to reduce his loan's principal by $44,000.

He's made nothing but minimum payments that entire time, and I think he took out a second mortgage to buy snowmobiles or do something similarly stupid. If he would have even paid $100 a month more towards the house he would have paid it off years ago, let alone $500-1000. Don't be a retard and you could have generational wealth easily. What is even worst is that the people who make our policies are the same people who hold most of that wealth. We're being strangled of our youth and working hours to make sure boomers live well-off into their Golden years. They are squeezing young people dry to keep them fed, fat and entitled. I can't see myself continuing on like this, most of this wealth won't be passed down by the time we reach 40. It's a damn shame you didn't take the assets in your name and sell them off. Would have been a nice little payday and dickslap to your shitty dad.

Colombian here.

My grandad was a shrewd businessman in his youth despite having very little education and was able to move his family from a little town into the capital of the country. He also bought a huge ranch in the countryside.

He was sick with Alzheimer's disease and eventually lost most of it. My uncles (boomers) were lazy and directionless and mostly allowed it all to be lost. My mom is among the few professionals in that generation of the family and was a wageslave in hospital labs before retiring with a nice pension that gave her a nice middle class lifestyle but not the possibility of having much more. She got me through the best university of the country thanks to that.

My dad never accumulated wealth for one reason or another and is kind of a failed man.

I got a good bachelor degree and an MBA but have found the good job market too difficult to penetrate. Thanks to crypto things are looking better financially, though

Indeed. And most founders / rich kids I've met are smart, they just don't need to go into the rat race like the rest of people.
