Anon even before the boomer rush it wasn't really cost effective buying it in the UK, however you could order it from Estonia and not pay any VAT. However, since Brexit, that doesn't work anymore, so just buy gold basically.

It boils back down to that PM's are a way to store your economic energy/work/effort/time.
Historical average for a day of unskilled labor was about the amount of silver in a dime and it takes about fourteen dimes to make a toz of silver.
10toz = 140d of working
100toz = 1400d ~3.84yr of salary
It is also assumed that in a fiat currency crash scenario that prices would significantly deflate as well, who know what a home or land will go for, especially if a lot of people perish and there's more of it all to go around.

I've learned quite a bit here over the last few weeks, thanks everyone.
There are still a few things I don't quite understand or would like to hear about here.
The fakebullion site has testing methods, but they do not list volumetric testing as a way to check, but rather just measuring dimensions of the coin. Is it a bad idea to dunk the bullion into tap water / distilled water to test for displacement, or did fakebullion just decide LxWxH is more accessible and have only those measurements in the database?
First a little Preamble
>t. church fag
There are two reasons I would want to survive post reset. 1) save more souls 2) propagation of my line via my wonderful wife and kids. In a reset, but not collapse, scenario, the globohomo would nationalize land, and it's a question whether they would leave amish / mennonite societies alone for some period of time, maybe just long enough until the propaganda effectively demonizes those groups to the public and through manufactured consensus decides to reign them in to the globohomo.
I believe the church is in a weakened state, as everybody sees it as just a place you go to, but if we review Acts, we see an exercise of communalism (to support your bothers and sisters in Christ and the poor minded) that was exercised for centuries until we broke into atomical immediate family units who drop an envelope with a small amount of cash each week. This communal practice looks to be exercised in the Amish and Mennonite communities.
With that said, if one were to join one of these communities, how can bringing precious metals into these communities post reset be beneficial? This would be mark of the beast sort of scenario we are talking here. I suppose medium of exchange, maybe it is under the radar except for advanced satellite recon and poaching cameras set up near you by bureau of land management.

I will be starting a thread 2pm EST on Monday on /pol/, it needs to be political, people stacking for financial purposes will be pointed to /pmg/. the plan is to siege by getting everyone buying one oz every monday(this is affordable, don't care about VAT etc), confirming sales numbers week to week across various dealers by comparing invoice numbers. Leave junk for the normies, only pick up minted coins, force the mints to fetch more from the market. The opposite of Q, a movement with an open source plan that everyone can do. Post timestamped stacks as a way to deter shills (and convert them too)

Honestly I am kind of a poorfag so I haven't really ever had more than a month or two of expenses in savings. I already own a house though, and if I was unemployed at least I will get unemployment cash unless it all crashes. I agree completely, however stacking and waiting for the retarded herd to notice PMs while they instead pump dogeshit and memestonks is a bit frustrating. "More time to keep stacking cheap" is the cope but I am confident that when the stupid bubbles start popping the fearful global rush into the tiny PM space will greatly reward our stubborn patience. Useless shitcoins mooning and stocks trading at 1300 PE is not "a new paradigm" but rather the flailing convulsions of a dying system. When it inevitably implodes I don't want to get dragged down and bankrupted along with it and millions of moonboi malinvestors.

Especially since you are paycheck to paycheck, I would probably prioritize investing in reducing your monthly living expenses. If you don't have metal, you should probably get some, but given the economic conditions we're looking at, money (hard or fiat) might not be as valuable as what you can buy today. Harden yourself. I was thinking about why PMs didn't moon during this crisis.
The answer is financial capitalism.
In past when western civilization was at its finest and financial capitalism weren't even a concept industrial capitalism was base economic model. The main source of profit was manufacturing and commerce. Supply chains were short and economy was relatively stable. Economic growth was unprecedented small village could turn into big in city in a matter of years. Also scientific progres was unmatched by any other era. Almost every modern invention has it predecessor in this time
But everything changed in 1970s with complete abolishment of gold standard, social welfare made financial capitalism dominant model. Industrial base was slowly declining and banking became dominant branch of economy. This resulted is declining standard of living. In the past blue-collar worker could sustain himself his wife and six children now both working parents can barely sustain two children.
Remaining industry is depended on supply chains crossing entire continents and even small scale local disaster can paralise entire industries worldwide. Also scientific progress lost its momentum. For example Moore Law stopped applying to progress in computing power. This system doesn't benefit hard workers or inventors only small group of speculants trading back and forth and using most predatory tactics to extract money from their victims.
Precious metal are biggest enemies of fiat currency and fractional reserve banking. System is losing traction and we are slowly approaching endgame. The biggest signs of it are casino like trading apps and small scale investors guided only by their baseless faith in pyramid like assets not any facts or knowledge. If ruling class brought public attention to precious metal it would accelerate inevitable system collapse and diminish their ability to secure soft landing in new economic reality.
Physical silver and gold cannot be printed nor they can be leveraged or shorted

Back in 1960’s when we are on the gold standard, people made much much less. Ask your parents about going to the candy store and spending a nickel and getting boatloads of candy. The dislocation of hard metal money and consumer goods is very stark. Now, we have a glut of consumer goods today compared to 50 years ago. But as a store of value, metals will be the best thing to own when all of the bonds and stocks are found to be poor stores of wealth.

in regards to ratio, the general consensus here is that silver has much more potential for growth, though ultimately it's personal preference. you might be interested in CEF, which is a physical gold and silver mix run by the same guys as PHYS and PSLV. looks like the current ratio there is 64/36 gold/silver.

They just a tip of an iceberg. There were banks before fiat currency. They aren't real cause of our problems only symptom of them.
Everything is entirely profit driven. Onlyfans ethots and functional illiterates running after ball on a field are some of the best paid people in modern era. There is almost no correlation between value of someone work and their wages. Most of economic growth is artificial and fueled by inflation and number of useless eaters is rising.
And elites are panicking. They are buying hard assets. What do you think Great Reset is?
It's a FUD made to discourage us from buying real estate and metals.
Do you think they will give you free food free housing and free transportation?
There will be no globohomo utopy only neofeudalism.
Why do you think Bill Gates is buying farmland?

I'm a glutton so I'd probably put 90% into physical silver and then pull the rest out of the banks as nickels.
Wait until you see the look on the teller's face when they realize you are serious and you want 200,000 nickels.

yep mark your loot somewhere, than fly a crew of close friends in to walk the good stuff out on foot. Its probably not really a mine, but a trench or a working. Small, not well defined but probably very rich. If you do find it, i will be very annoyed, but i will be happy someone finally broke the curse.

Is it linked to some platinum mining beginning in an area with a large amount present? It's much harder to find than silver and even gold.

Yeah I used to argue enedlessly with my econ professors, before I was even schooled on Austrian economics. They'd say shit like markets are always efficient, and infinite growth is not only possible but necessary. Needless to say I was the edgelord raising his hand every 10 mins to argue with the professor while everyone browsed Facebook on their laptops. Kek college, what a waste of time and money

If they did find the stash and don't want to tell anyone they should Barrow some donkeys or alpacas and use them to haul the gold out of the area. for one, the sovereign pieces are harder to counterfeit than some happy holidays rounds from some random mint
there's reasons to own various forms of silver, including art pieces
i just wouldn't own anything that's too ridiculous like specialty pieces that are like $200 -$500 an ounce
