I used to want that, then I saw the tax structure in a place like that. The waterfront homes paid a fucking fortune in taxes, the inland ones even with views were a fraction of it. Water access was nearly as good and you didn't have to worry about storms nearly as much.

I got to live there for a summer, also, and there was a lot nice about it, but also a lot of suck. It was all artfags and millionaires and trophy wives and dirt-poor old farmers struggling to keep their century-old family homes while taxes and valuations went sky-high. The schools sucked because the richfags had their kids stashed in private schools, and the farmers' kids were all dumb as rocks and turning into druggies.

By now I'm sure you can't touch a house on that island for under a million, maybe two. The farmers' kids are all gonna sell out and go meth themselves to death as soon as their parents die.
