Maybe you're missing the point here. In Uniswap you have to PAY people GAS (GWEI) to TRADE (mine the transaction) the coins you want. It's like the fees of a stock broker. This isn't a centralized exchange, so the GAS PRICE changes with how much activity there is.

When you offer a TRADE, you can set the MAX GAS PRICE (GWEI) with Metamask, or leave it default. Default right now is about $80.

In regards to the gas question. I have $20 worth of eth in my metamask for the gas fee of converting HOGE back to eth when the time comes. Just to make sure I had enough for the gas, I went through the preliminary steps of swapping and the transaction got approved... Of course I didn't click 'swap' because I'm holding until mars. So, I assume the gas fees for converting back to eth is not as much?
