do you guys file crypto taxes? i traded a shit ton before i realized the trades are taxable. i’m still under 2k though so not sure if it’s worth

About to start mine. I made over 100k profit with thousands of trades. Two of the exchanges I used straight up wiped my trade history, not sure if it's because I didn't log in for so long so not even cointracker can't help me. Essentially I'm fucked unless the taxman gives me some form of amnesty because I straight up can't explain where this money came from other than just "flipping shitcoins"

Under 5k no i dont bother. Feds can come after me and ill just say oops and pay em back.
Over that, yeah you should probably file
If you lost money yeah you should file.
I made 12k off of AMC and had the money sitting in MSFT, gonna sell it tomorrow and go all in on BTC.
But ill have to pay since im taking the money from fidelity it becomes realized gains.
