I hate to tell you this but movie theaters will never go away. If Americans could flood the movie theaters again even at the risk of rona, they literally would. There's a fundamental difference between watching a movie at home and watching a film in theaters. The element of truly isolating yourself from the world and immersing yourself with the kino brings it to life in a way that watching it at home could never replicate.

When you watch a movie at home, you are diluting the spirit of the film. Nothing more than a hollow projection of the real thing. Like the shadows in Plato's cave. Watching it in theaters is like leaving the cave and seeing it for what it truly is.
