volatility doesn't matter, because you can just use the ATR to determine your position size to make it a non-issue. what matters are volume and spread size. a tight spread with high volume means you're able to get filled and suffer little to no slippage, whereas a low float penny stock can absolutely rape any sort of stop loss you might want to use.

the chart patterns or indicator signals are far more important than that, at the end of the day TA is just giving you a probabilistic edge over a large series of trades in the hopes of being profitable over a statistically relevant number of trades. if you lose 400 trades but you win 600 and every trade is 1:1 then you're profitable, even though you lost 400 times.
