Asteroid gold mining is FUD. At least for next 100 years. We would need to engineer small nuclear reactors that not require water cooling or laser power transmition. Solar panels won't be really effective enough in main asteroid belt it's too far from Sun But if we build entire square kilometres of them it could be reasonably effective. Changing asteroid trajectories to bring asteroid in Earth orbit is too power consuming and dangerous.
