if collapse is in the near term this will exponentially grow.
if status quo is maintained this will slowly lose money, eventually cost thousands, then hundreds of thousands to hold. But that process wouldn't start spiraling out of control for at least another year and a half.

Here are the nuts/bolts if you want numbers (also download their design guide and give it a read): https://www.liquidmetal.com/material-properties/

The people running the business seem to be absolutely retarded, but the intrinsic value of vitreloy and similar materials seems huge. I'm a coordination chemist, no materials background, but from what I understand it seems that the materials are basically adamantium with the exception of high-temperature resistance (~400 C+) which causes them to crystallize spontaneously and lose the advantageous properties. The types of product that can be manufactured have to be relatively small in size, but I can think of endless applications off the top of my head.

Their business model seems to be that they will grant licenses to companies to manufacture things from the material (and category of materials) that their patents cover. Apple has a contract with them (something about cellphone charger ports), and a joint-replacement/prosthetic company in China is beginning to do something with it.

Amorphous metals in general seem to be simply ideal and superior to steels for example, in nearly every way. Another benefit is that the products can be injection molded rather than cast or forged, then milled down to the desired shape.

I'm just starting my investigation into amorphous metals and the business around them, but they seem fascinating and full of potential, based upon the papers in academic journals that I've read so far.

>>28214116
The manufacturing method used with amorphous metals is primarily injection molding, and there is almost no loss of dimension (or whatever the term is, I'm not an engineer) when separated from the mold.

The selling point here is the nature of the materials themselves: highly flexible, wear-resistant, almost immune to corrosion, and due to the fact that they can be injection molded into a final form with little to no subsequent milling, etc. is advantageous to the cost of production.

They don't seem to wear down and crack like metals with significant degrees of crystallinity. I'm just finding myself wondering why vitreloy and other bulk metallic glasses haven't seen widespread adoption yet, and was wondering if anybody here had even heard of them.

>> No.28215898

>>28215461
Honestly, I'm not certain. Maybe the fact that research into amorphous metals didn't take off until later on, and ignorance of the part of manufacturers.

It could also be that the people running the business end of things are just retarded and bad at managing the company. My chemistry background makes me think that amorphous metals have a lot of potential for everyday life that hasn't been realized.

I just don't know quite what to think about LQMT yet.

When the world was going to end and we were all going to die of meme flu, TQQQ fell 66%.
How could a simple bubble deflation to be even worse than the apocalypse crash?
If TQQQ fell 50%, realistically the biggest crash anyone expects this decade, you would earn 85%. That's if it happens now. Next month you'll only get 80% out of an epic 50% crash, then 75%. No crazy exponential return. In a year it's not even good for a 50% crash.
