This is a bugfix/UI update.
There were inconsistencies with how chart data was displayed, so It needed a fix. Now you'll see all the chart data in realtime, with YOUR local timezone. I had to recreate the mintpal dataset, hence the downtime.
Please note that Swisscex data isn't updated as often as MintPal, so the blue lines might lag behind.
Since I was fiddling with that part of the site, I added some UI sugar to the charts (alternating bars, axes are labeled 0.000000x and such).

As always, please let me know if something is wrong.

I don't mean to be negative, but let's present correct information to random anons browsing. The original block reward pattern will end after 100 billion Dogecoins are mined.

After that, approximately 5 billion DOGE will be mined a year. During the first year (after original mining run), this represents 5% of all Dogecoins in existence. All factors constant, this is 5% (.05) inflation / loss in value.

The things people tend to forget are that:

>every year, 5 billion will be a smaller % of the total number of DOGE in existence, thus inflation will be less than 5% / year in subsequent years

I am not really sure what you are talking about. Inflation in crypto generally refers to inflation after the initial mining run. BTC is capped at 21 mil, DOGE will grow at a constant ~5 billion DOGE a year after the initial 100 billion mining run.

With that out of the way, I assume what you are referring to, by "inflation," is the fact that BTC is currently being mined. So, there are more BitCoins being introduced into the market. This is correct. However, this is not what created the panic.

What created the panic is that DOGE was initially capped at 100 billion, just like BTC is capped at 21 mil. Then an announcement was made that there will be no cap, and new DOGE will be created after the initial 100 bil. However, NO NEW BTC will be created after the 21 mil.

Do you see the difference?

These are the people who panic sell whenever there's a dip or bad news from China. They would have exited the market involuntarily anyway. Yes, the inflation dampens overall enthusiasm for Doge, but it also sets it apart from other cryptos. Even if the math makes real Doge inflation lower than Bitcoin, having post-mineout inflation symbolically makes Doge a currency for exchange, rather than hoarding.

You're not wrong, but I think you're overestimating the effect of that announcement on the long-term future of Doge.

Can you see 3-4 years from now? Sometimes I can be very accurate, I have nothing against coins but not even half will survive in meaningful ways, I wish you could believe me and not waste time over these soon to be bygone networks.

BTC will not go away, neither will LTC, Monacoin, Dokdocoin, Ripple, some country-coins will have enlarged time-spans, VTC and BC will remain minor due to the algo diversification but its not enough.
