Generally the simplest indicators are best. I have seen 2 that work pretty well on backtesting:
1. Sell TQQQ or SOXL if the underlying (QQQ or SOXX) dips below its 200 daily MA. Buy if the underlying rises above its 200 daily MA
2. "Contrarian Bollinger Bands" (you can google this) on the underlyings
Both basically are doing the same thing. The second is probably less prone to random failures since its also weighting by volume but the first is the easiest and dumbest to execute.
