I think its misguided desu. I don't really see cryptocurrency as a good, but rather for further entrenching existing systems of control. At the end of the day property needs to be enforced at the end of a gun whether its people defending their own home or police enforcing imperial property norms, but systems that abstract financial decisions away from local governments make imperial and globalized liberal property systems the "path of least resistance" so to speak. Its just further neoliberalization. Doesn't mean you shouldn't buy or trade it- make due with the cards you're dealt and go from there. You'll be hardpressed to find a profitable investment that doesn't fuck people

In the 25 years or so between early popular adoption and now its transformed into a sort of surveillance addiction hellhole controlled by a small number of incredibly wealthy investors, and absolutely obsessed with convincing its users to consoom more. That doesn't mean that the Internet or crypto can't have a place... there was a group of anarchists in, I think, greece, that created and adopted some random shitcoin early on and all started trading it amongst themselves to produce volume and use cases, and they ended up pulling in some significant money from external speculation. There was another dude who hacked a ton of bitcoin and donated it to Rojava. And a group interested in mutual aid probably wants some sort of web presense, etc... but on the larger scale, they're not a solution to the problem, they are they problem. Direct, face to face, mutual aid- constructed with the foresight that the larger social systems we've normalized and depend on will probably collapse over the next 20 years- is whats actually needed right now
