I am 24 and I pay $400 / month for a 2017 camry. Anybody know how can I lower it down?

Your still in the "young brain dumb" age group, it drops a ton at 25

>> No.28143855

once you hit 25, it'll go down a bit. did you have any accidents? tickets? citations? those can all increase your insurance too

>> No.28143913

shop around bro the car insurance market is extremely competitive right now

>> No.28143949

I pay $35 a month for car insurance.

also everything this anon said, if you did any of those last 3 thing anon said consider ur higher insurance rate a stupid tax.

>> No.28143979

raise deductibles on collision and comp
maintain continuous insurance for 3 years or more
get any discounts you can
age past 25
become non-binary gender or w/e if its available in your state.
pay 6-month premium in full.

$400/month is a shit ton for 1 car op. you have any accidents or violations in your past?

>> No.28144027

>>28143855
Literally nothing. I have a 100% clean record. Not even a parking ticket.

>> No.28144093

>>28143730
Lots of factors contribute to insurance price. I drive a 2020 Toyota and mine is $60/mo for full collision+comprehensive and with high coverage limits, but I'm a lot older than you and have discounts from other insurance policies.

Worst thing you can ever do is get a DUI. That'll fuck your insurance for at least a decade.

quote with other insurance companies. try geico and progressive at a minimum. also VERY IMPORTANT: ask for your policy to be effective at least 14 days in advance

Credit score is good but I dont really have much of credit history. Maybe thats why its so damn expensive. Thanks for your input.

you can ask them to re-pull your credit if you've had your policy for awhile. you probably have better credit now

if you can afford it buy 6 months at a time, I save a fat chunk that way

Dont be a fucking idiot. Never buy a new car. Why do you need a new car op? I drive a 2009 toyota corolla it looks nice i keep it in good condition. literally costs me $32 a month with progressive. There's no one on the road. There's no reason to ever get more than $25,000/$50,000 coverage. Only buy the state minimum coverage. If you are in a larger accident than that you are most likely dead. Second, if you buy an older car raise the deductible to $1000 minimum. If you cannot afford $1000 deductible you are an absolute poorfag. Third, with progressive pay for the full six months period up front. Your 6 month bill will be maximum $350. Geico is close however with the pay up front policy you can decrease by another 35%

1. only get liability insurance (aka make sure you dont get financially ruined because you accidentally paralyzed somebody)

2. only drive a car with a pricetag that wouldn't hurt to see vanish in a wreck

i (22 y/o) drive a 97 civic that i got for $1500 and pay $51 in car insurance with good liability coverage, $134 in taxes a year, averaged thats $62.17 a month. nice cars are for when you make it, if you're complaining that insurance is too expensive you havent made it
