Each of those indexers needs delegators. If each indexer has an average of 1 million tokens between the indexers stake and the delegators, that's 7 billion tokens required. Right now nobody is on main and we've already got 2 billion tokens delegated. Effectively when there are more subgraphs and indexers, people are going to want to spread around to those indexers to get undiluted awards and this gold rush is going to massively constrict the liquid supply of GRT to hilariously low levels. 10 billion tokens isn't too much. It might not even be enough. What would the market cap be right now if instead of 10 billion tokens we only had 1 billion or less?

I’m as bullish on GRT as can be but I’ve been seeing this over the last week and it’s complete bullshit.

An indexer can and will index multiple subgraphs. There’s no need for “one indexer per subgraph” and the entire logic of this post falls apart once you realize that.

The 160ish indexers will index the entire 7000 subgraph ecosystem. More may come on just from popularity/profitability but you don’t need a new one each time a subgraph is released.
