Yes, but honestly it is a unique situation where it is more difficult for them to be used well.

The only time it is really 'over' is if the price drops to a level low enough they can close out their shorts. But that is such a drop for most of us that a stop loss doesn't really matter - it's still a catastrophic loss.

Then you consider the more or less unprecedented situation for the rise. It has potential to suddenly spike to a huge figure, but no one knows how high. This makes risk/reward very high on both ends, and also makes deciding when to close difficult. Do you close at 500 for a tidy profit? Do you go for 1000 which many feel is a very conservative estimate? Do you go higher which some consider totally feasible?

It is a very difficult one and easy to be greedy on. It's totally down to a person's risk appetite.

Personally I am more or less risking 0, but if it goes to 400-500 I will sell enough to cover about 50% of my investment. I will then gamble the rest on actual profit, probably exiting 1000 mark but will sell early if it looks like the game is up, and equally if things are spiraling up I may hold longer or not sell all of it. It's very much a wait and see.
