Would you buy right now 100 RTX 3060ti (or 50 RTX 3080) and start mining ETH If you would have the chance to?

>> No.28076708

no because POW mining is dead
POS is taking over
POW is nothing but a historical relic

>> No.28076722

>>28076465
not knowing much about mining or cards i would say the 100 ti's are a better choice,

Can a miningfag tell me why im right or retarded plz

>> No.28076749

>>28076465
Yes, but only because it would add to my farm already. If it came presetup, might be worth it for n00bz, but probably not if they have to figure it all out alone.

>> No.28076822

>>28076708
I think there are still 3-4 years where you can farm the shit out of ETH. after this time the investment should be in again

>> No.28076902

>>28076708
XMR would like a word with you. As the 'premier' privacy coin, even when ETH2 goes PoS, mining will still be valuable. XMR might even go up as a result.

>> No.28076906

>>28076465
It's not even a valid question. The 3060 ti is a much better choice.

Actually I am a noob - we are a like 4 persons who want to set it up from literally zero knowledge. We have the opportunity to get all the hardware at the RRP inclusive -14% because of a promotion to businesses in my country.
also we have the chance to get the electricity costs to 10c (€) /kwh

>> No.28077085

>>28076722
At 100 cards the 3060's would be less wattage but the 3080 would be more profitable.

>>28076465
Better get your mining of ETH in before they switch to PoS

Of course... assuming I could buy them at msrp, You'd be making about 20k a month passively and the cards are a lot more efficient at cooling so you could sell them after you're done mining for close to the price you bought them for.

Free money + return on your initial investment.

You could mine almost half a million in 4 years just by leaving them on assuming crypto keeps this price up. If crypto goes up, you could make close to a million after 4 years... passively.

Mining is absolutely ridiculous right now. it's almost worth buying them second hand for 300$ premium.

I'm making ~25$ a day mining my 2 3080s and my gtx 1080.

XMR mining is awesome

Finally home computer CPU mining is back on the map.

Does your electricity scale by usage? Or is it always 10c no matter how many watts you use a month.

>> No.28077330

>>28077103
thanks - yeah that would be insane. Since we have the chance to get all the stuff at such an electricity price.

I hope ill be able to get the needed knowledge as fast as possible to set this thing up and start.

>> No.28077409

what about your power costs? Thinking about mining too here in good old Germany. But 0,37$ kw/h made me thinking not to.

>> No.28077429

>>28077311
It is always 10c - no matter what.
If the project succeed we are able to renegotiate the whole project and cut the electricity price to 5c

>> No.28077484

but (the maximum of) 10c is fixed for the next 5 years for sure.

Yeah, then go with the 3080 as many as possible.

You'll have to decide if its worth it to you to flash the GPU BIOS or leave them alone for resale.

just started mining on a single 3080, have pulled $75 in a week, looking into buying a second 3080 on OfferUp.

are you worried about ETH going to PoS, or do you think there'll always be something to mine?

What are you doing for housing, have you flashed bios before, what hosting service are you going to use, and do you know how to run it. I see .10€/kwh which is nice. Hey man if you're getting a deal, then it would be worth it. They'll pay for themselves monthly as long as you get them set up efficiently.

I use hiveOS just because I like it. But be aware you'll need to flash the cards on Windows before you throw them in a Linux OS system. There's a lot to learn so get studying. This happened in 2017 too, and a lot of guys left after the crash. Just know if we crash again you're going to be selling those cards at a heavy loss

>> No.28077752

i doubt capital depreciation and power costs could offset the income at least in eu

Ok, let's say I'm gonna buy 100 of Gigabyte RTX 3060 Ti for $500 each. That's approx $50000. With a mining profit of $5.96 per day on a single card, and $596 on all 100 cards, with an electric bill of $0.10 kw/h. If I run it for 6 months nonstop, the profit would be $107280.
Let's say I'd sell those cards after mining for $400 each, that would be $40k+$107k mining profit after electric bill. $147280 in total in 6-8 months, considering ETH wouldn't drop.
Wouldn't it be easy to just buy any shitcoin with those $50k, and wait for 8 month for a measly 3x?

Pls post mining rig stats, I'll start:

Total consumption including mobo etc: 350W
Hashrate: 120
Received eth per day: currently around 0.007-0.01
Electricity cost: 10cents /kwh

PoS is a joke richfags pull on poorfags. Realize that 90% of crypto value comes from PoW today.

>> No.28078126

>>28077740
No actually I am a noob. I think I am not stupid and I could learn it. Until the cards arrive and I have to set it up would take 10-15 days. You think it is possible to learn all the stuff in this time?

Since the Setup would not be at my place, instead it's built at a company 2 hours from my flat, one more question is how often ill need to drive there and check the setup. What I read until now is that once its set up and working I am able to check and fix upcoming problems with team viewer or similar.

yeah that's my biggest worry - that the Price is going to plummet. But if you compare 2017 with 2021 things are different imo. Much more money is staked and fixed.

>> No.28078231

>>28077775
Actually we are already in Crypto since 2017 - but we never actually thought about mining since now.

The idea would be to actually "run" something, which is at one point on Break even and is generating a nice passive income once its paid off

>I use hiveOS just because I like it. But be aware you'll need to flash the cards on Windows before you throw them in a Linux OS system.

Brainlet detected. You can literally flash bios from the HiveOS web console.
