Guys what's the meta for doing stuff with my 4k AVAX stack? I know longer term pays out more per day but it doesn't continuously compound your coins like if you just did monthly and reinvested everything. I don't plan on selling any of my 4k or any rewards for at least the next year.

Also for node running vs delegation. The fee for delegation is only 2% so what exactly is the point of paying for the computing and electricity of a node? Should I get a raspberry pi and use it instead of my laptop as well? Thanks for the help, I'm dumb but starting to get kinda wealthy dumb.

>> No.28066941

Fee for delegation is set by node operator and can vary from 2% to 20%. In addition to not having to pay the fee if you set up a node, you can receive delegated funds from others, up to 8x your own staked amount. So if you charge 2% then that's like getting up to 16% more staking rewards.

wow guys it's totally over
don’t participate in these shittokens

If you delegate 1 month periods you can compound your earned AVAX

There are a lot of 2% now though. Will this likely change in the future?

I hate this coin. It's retarded that it keeps going up without any external hype.

Validators can choose their fee level, with 2% being the minimum - there is no guarantee you'll be able to delegate for 2% consistently if demand for delegation outstrips supply of validators

You're helping grow the network, which helps your investment

The cost of a node will be about $50 (one off for rasp pi4), and $5/year in electricity. Your 2% fee right now costs about 8 AVAX, or $200/year, but scales with price... If avax hits $100, that fee is $800/year

Pretty clear to me OP, maybe delegate for a month whilst you wait for a raspberry pi and do some reading, then launch your node and validate.

You get higher rewards for longer staking periods though - anyone done the maths to see which is more profitable (I would imagine the latter is)

Oh and as mentioned above - you charge other people fees for delegating on your node. It's a no brainer OP

THAT and it’s at only 1/10 of its competitors current market cap (ADA & DOT)

Does validating pay off at specific time periods then? Is there merit to doing shorter terms so you can have more opportunities to compound rewards?

I'm a 600 stacklet anon so not sure about when you receive validating rewards and/or fees

I know for delegating you get rewards at the end of the staking period.

I also know rewards are higher for longer staking periods.

i.e. 12 month rewards > 12x1 month reward, so I'm not sure if compounding shorter staking periods would actually be more profitable.

Another consideration as a validator is that your delegators end their staking with you at the end of a period, so doing lots of shorter staking periods would likely mean you get a lot less in delegators fees

See pic for calculations. APY has dropped a little since then but the relative ranking should be the same.

They're not valid competitors. No one is because nobody solved the trilemma onchain.

I could only afford 1.5k of this at $10 and I unironically want to neck myself. This shit needs to go to like $500 for me to even be close to making it.

Likely yes, there was a community vote to lower validation reqs to 500 and raise fees to ~10%, to incentivise more validators

Purchase a raspberry pi, and delegate to mine in the meantime.
Rewards coming in a week.
Minimum fee(2%).
Already up enough so that even if offline until the end of the period we get our money.
