27862412 No.27862412 [Reply] [Original]

ight /biz/, this let's start a massive thread where we just share a bunch of REALISTIC ways to make money that are not of the following:

-investing in stocks, crypto, or any other form of tradable asset that is commonly discussed in this board

-getting a normal job

this thread is intended more for business ventures the majority of this board could get started with within a month or so, mostly online stuff, but IRL ventures are welcome too.

I would sincerely appreciate it if you'd take this somewhat seriously, I'll start of with my own contribution:

You can make some decent money selling the highest "rarity" cs go stickers for ongoing operations. These stickers are extremely pricey at the start of the operation, drop down to a price between 1-2 euros, and stay there for like three months. They'll gradually increase by like 0.1-0.4 euros before falling to a price even lower, often between 1-1.5 euros. This is when you buy as many as you can afford. You then wait a bit until the end of the operation comes around and then sell your sickers at about 3x what you got them for. You want it to at least be 3x because you want to sell them on bitskins or another website of that sort. When you do that you'll be forced to sell at a price lower than steam marketplace, and on top of that withdrawing the money from your account is going to being with it some fees. Or 0 fees if you go with crypto payouts.

Vending machines, gumball machines, atms can make u a solid living. If your friendly and offer the business a cut (usually half of the profit after upkeep and restalking) then you can just build as you go. Don't over invest though. Who knows when paper money and coins will become obsolete. Summers for me would net me around $100-$200 a machine in the right area it doesn't matter tho.

What requirements should the accounts you sell fulfill to be sold? Do people only care about number of games? any specific games that would make someone buy your account? How much does not having a vac ban matter to the buyer?

I've heard of selling steam accounts before, but as far as I understand, you generally cannot "invest" in an account so to say, you simply sell an account you happen to have or steal other people's accounts and sell those. Is this true? Anything I'm missing?

I grow and sell "microgreens" for beer money.
I undercut the competition by over half because I'm not trying to pay my rent with it. They seethe and tell me I don't value my time.
I like shooting the shit about the science behind it and really just use it as something that let's me be social and also make $300 a weekend at the farmer's market. My list of social contacts who know people in high places keeps growing because I tell people to fuck off if I don't like them.

startup costs can be $1 depending on equipment.
Dirt, water, and a double-container with holes in one for drainage.
If you wanna see if you can grow things, buy a dollar bag of lentils from walmart. Soak them for like 4 hours and plant them.
Can be done literally anywhere and inside is even better because you don't have all those outside factors. Just make sure it gets some airflow because mold is a bitch.
Indirect sunlight is actually good for the plants at this age. More light means faster growth though.
I use a bottom watering method once the seeds get their roots because if you just put water in the bottom and the dirt will suck up the water through capillary action. Plant leaves don't suck up water, just the roots.
But if you wanna get a production going, you can buy a $70 rack, and then probably $20-50 of 10x20 trays depending on the quality. Bootstrapfarmer has big-dick trays but also cost the most.
Can get $50 worth of LED shop lights. Spectrum really doesn't matter much for the growth stages you'll be doing, so no need for fancy grow lights. Your substrate can vary here. Some like hydro, some like coco coir. I like to do it like mother nature's been doing it and just use dirt. Simple as

shiitake and oster mushrooms are easy to grow by synthetic log method, and requires virtually no special skills. especially oyster mushrooms. i've cloned oyster mushrooms from the super market produce aisle, and although i used agar to ensure there were no contaminants, you could probably get away with gong straight to liquid culture. use liquid culture to colonize sterilized rye grains and this you can expand with grain to grain transfer. being colonized spann is probably your best bet touch, or plugs for shiitake if you want to grow on real logg, however, synthetic logs indoor is way better in terms of yield. restaurants here buy oyster mushrooms for 22 bucks a kilo, shiitake for 25-30.

if you want to charge more or there are other competitors nearby, go for a strain that fetch a higer price your competitors likely dont grow. Lions mane and maitake will surely be worth more, but are more finicky to grow. in the case of lions mane you have to deliver it directly after harvest because it bruises easily while harvesting and handling, making it look icky even though it tastes sublime. you can buy lions mane grain spawn online, unsure about maitake though, you might have to go all the way from spore syringes.
mushroom farming can be profitable and high yielding in small spaces, i believe i read you can grow up to 5 tons a year in just 45m2.
harvest before spores are released or you have a mess to deal with

I'm trying to get in this year with a business I'm a partner in (not microgreens) but I'm not hopeful, it's like a non-religious church service where everyone knows everyone and wants to sell their chicken eggs.

Very good point. My reasoning behind my initial contribution and what differentiates it from the other posts here, is that steam is the stock market on ez mode. There's just fewer variables to keep track of there from my experience. With steam, you don't have a ton of complicated stuff like shorting and whatnot, you just buy thing x for y price and if you want to sell, you do it with a 15% tax, and you can sell for IRL money or crypto on other websites. That's pretty much where it ends for the most part.

That and most people here don't talk about steam market at all, even though I'd imagine most people here have a steam account. You just see a ton of shticoins and meme stocks and the occasional TSLA mention.

Regarding about if I make my profit from timing the market, yes, that's exactly what it is at the end of the day.

Here's why the price changes as it does: People are super hypes at first, stickers are super expensive. Then the initial drop in price happens, hype fades away a bit. The reason sticker prices increase a tiny bit for a few months is because of other people looking to invest in them too, those people buy shortly after the first hype wave is gone. Those people then stop buying and the price falls to a new low. That's when I buy.

the effect on the market is most likely not bigger by those other buyers because stickers just aren't popular in the grand scheme of csgo. They're popular enough to make a profit on, but most people care more for weapon skins.

Yeah but that's because most small companies are run by incompetent idiots. Truly successful people don't trust anyone, not even themselves, they simply calculate the potential risk and potential reward and make decisions based on that alone.

Eventually the market will get flooded and the genetics will become less rare and less expensive, but even off a single years' profit you can re-invest in something even more rare and expensive and keep that going forever with increasingly huge returns. I'm breeding geckos this year on a much smaller financial scale, their care is far easier but I'll still 4-5x the investment this year and more each consecutive year. Just dipping my feet in breeding, I'll probably pull out gains on this crypto bullrun to invest in a more expensive breeding pair.

I'd like to leave you with a final tip in case you're wholly serious and plan on spending 50 euros on this: Don't buy purple stickers that are popular, stick to the ones that have pink rarity. purple rarity stickers will generally increase more in supply in relation to the demand compared to pink stickers. Honestly door dash isn't a terrible idea right now. I do it for extra money (not main income of course) and it's solid. You don't have to meet anyone or go anywhere to sign up, it takes like 15 minutes. You also don't have a required schedule or hours you need to do each week so I would say it's not a real job. Since eveything is no-contact right now you usually just stop into a drive-thru, pick up the food, google maps to the person's house and leave it on the person's doorstep. Of course you have to make sure your gas costs balance out but that's pretty easy if you:
> schedule yourself for "peak pay"
> only lurk around restaurants that have high delivery costs
>only accept orders that are over $10.

The app is stupidly easy to use, honestly a monkey could do it. You just press the buttons and drive and then at the end of the night you can instant deposit into your bank account. The money usually shows up the next day.

It's the same as running a business, you will have upkeep costs for sure, and if you have a car with bad mileage then maye it isn't worth it but again, if you follow a set of rules it balances out for some extra change. For example, I made $102.00 last week and the time I spent actively doing deliveries (driving) was clocked at a little over 5 hours. If I was driving 40mph that whole time that's about $40 of gas expenses for my delivery time. That's still $62 for me at $12.4 an hour. It's not meant to be a full time of course, that probably would kill my car but it's solid for some extra money.

Speaking partially from experience here; D&D players are ultra-mega cheapskates. To them they aren't, but they have one of, if not THE cheapest hobbies in the entire world.
You might get an invested dungeon master to buy a group portrait of his gaming group for like <100 bucks, and that's it. If you make a cool map and sell it on DriveThruRPG or something like that you might get a few pity buys, but trust me this hobby is less profitable then indie video game development, and that's saying something.

Start an Etsy Shop and sell things off Alibaba. Capital costs vary, you can buy 50 cent items in bulk, say 100 pieces for $50, shipping from Alibaba to you will be $50 worldwide, so $100, then list each thing for $5-$10. Run Etsy Ads and put some effort into making your store look good. Then you'll start to see sales. Keep at it for a couple months and you'll make at least $500/month. Run a few different shops and you'll be able to make thousands a month. You don't have to find a new niche, you just need to find something that sells and have the room at your house to be able to store a few boxes. >The speculative stock market and fiat reserve banking system is new and parasitical.

So what about the Roman caste division of ancient world?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honestiores_and_humiliores

Honestiores, aka the ruling class, the aristocracy were the "honest men" and those who do not "work for living"

Humiliores (this includes the craftsmen, workers, artisans etc.) were identified by this simple fact: "Those who work (for their living)"'

Now, case could be made that the speculative stock market and fiat reserve bankers actually do work (for a living), for the Honestiores of the Roman society it was considered a disgraceful and a ridicule if one had worked even a single day of his life (to attain into his wealth)

You talk of ancient societies having not any parasitical elements, while the truth is that they had much more privileges than the current anti-semitism laws of "modernity":
>Honestiores had many privileges: they could not be tortured and would be killed by beheading and not damnatio ad bestias or crucifixion.

>Humans have forever been plagued by the parasitical classes. That's why societies collapse, they get too top heavy and indulgent. ie too many parasites for the host body to handle.

Typical marxist and socialist worldview. This includes National Socialism too.

Compared to ancients:
>In our time it is fashionable to exalt work of whatever sort and no matter how it is accomplished, as if it had some superlative value in itself independently of any consideration of another order. Contrary to what the moderns think, any work that is done indiscriminately by anyone solely for the pleasure of acting or because of the need to ‘earn one’s living’ hardly merits being exalted, and indeed it can only be regarded as something abnormal, opposed to the order that ought to regulate human institutions, to such a point that, in the conditions of our age, it only too often acquires a character that without any exaggeration qualifies as ‘infra-human’. What our contemporaries seem to ignore completely is that work is not truly valid unless it conforms to the very nature of the being that accomplishes it and results therefrom in a spontaneous and necessary way, as it were, so that it is no more than the means for that nature to realize itself as perfectly as possible.
- "Glorification Of Work" - René Guénon

Nazis also glorified working. Arbeit macht frei is a German phrase meaning "Work sets you free". This glorification is chiefly a socialist issue.

The fact that you consider aristocratic and ruling classes "parasitical" makes you a socialist too.

You do not understand history - at all. Maybe in terms of class struggle, but this just a marxist fantasy. Marxism and national socialist worker party worldview does not account that civilization led by spiritual leaders and by a sacred regality, a shift occurred to civilizations led by mere warrior aristocracies; the latter were eventually replaced by the civilization of the Third Estate.

Why would I even want to know your definition of work? You/we started this little conversation implying that the stock investors (who pay taxes) are parasitical in nature to your average Joe who works at the cheese sandwich factory producing material goods for the consumerist society or when compared to the police (who also protects the stock investor).

This sort of division of parasitism, based on such division of mere profession in a capitalist society is in total agreement with the class struggle narrative of Marxism, these two divisions being almost two columns with distinct ideas but which act in unison at a tactical level in order to achieve the same strategy. Likewise, the economization of life, especially in the context of an industry that develops at the expense of agriculture, factories, gross domestic product, and a wealth that is concentrated on liquid capital and finance is also Marxist worldview and not strictly capitalist.

Among other things, this is natural development not only for Marxism, but for Darwinism too, for in this scenario it is only the "fit" that will survive and the parasitical element is to be eliminated.

Nothing is more evident from your posts that you think that modern capitalism is just as subversive as Marxism, otherwise you would not even think of the individual as contributing to society - as whole - it would be impossible. Or perhaps you are a Marxist yourself?

The materialistic view of life on which both systems are based is identical; both of their ideals are qualitatively identical, including the premises connected to a world the centre of which is constituted of technology, science, production, "productivity," and "consumption."

Do you think the destiny of human race is to spread over the galaxy so that we can mine minerals on Mars to contribute to such eternal growth? Are you a Space Socialist? (United Earth under one flag to achieve space colonization, Star Trek on Steroids)

And as long as we only talk about economic classes, profit, salaries, and production, and as long as we believe that real human progress is determined by a particular system of distribution of wealth and goods, and that, generally speaking, human progress is measured by the degree of wealth or indigence to such system: be it liquid finance or capitalist products, how are you going to define what is real work?

You are a Jew or either you think like a Jew. A materialist, marxist Jew without any spiritual realm to his thinking or any higher type of realm to his spirit. Only psyche and body.

Your definition of contribution to this society is probably based on who invents the new rocket fuel that gets us one step closer to Mars or some other exoplanet with favorable conditions. Never mind the socialism or total marxist globohomo-agenda, it is after all, for the greater good (science and space-faring civilization)
