Unless there is any real pressure for them to buy I don't see the squeeze happening.
Right now the price is freaking low so their interest is not even that bad.
Also, they shorted again at 400 or 300, so they are getting their profit back.

I was thinking more along the like of herd mentality (aka: "modern" investing), where what a company does doesn't matter, only the perception.

The symbol "Hemp" alone is enough to trigger those whose hope is higher than their market knowledge.

Meanwhile, with it currently at $115/10k shares, it's easy enough to move large percentages. There are no options (let alone any worth buying), but that too might help because you're boxing out a lot of the more professional houses.

It is definitely good. The disaster scenario today would have been if it continued to bleed down to a 'normal' price where the hedgies could escape the shorts. The opposite has happened.

Yes we are down a lot from the ATH however what is important is that the hedgies still cannot get out and the price is still catastrophically inflated for them. Ideally we'll get up to higher amounts, but the important thing is that the price is inflated and continues to be so. As long as people hold this will happen, and eventually there will be a squeeze.

The problem is firstly the shilling/misinfo and then just people getting bored or scared on dip days, which can really hurt us. We are in the biggest prisoner's dilemma there has ever been. If we hold out we all win, but if too many people are selfish or chicken out then everyone, including them, gets fucked.

/wsb/ briefly got hollowed out internally by moles. Their boy DFV went from being a totally unheard of name a month ago to now being doxxed on multiple websites daily. /biz/ went from moderately active in start of july to most active board just a week ago, with the most activity during trading hours when shills come to astroturf and setup narratives for you to witness to sway your emotions [recommend reading "Thinking Fast, and Slow" for this]
In just a week we saw the media mobilize, the SEC turn a blind eye to market manipulation, and relentless short ladders. The price went from $400 to $50, but the share volume history doesn't align with this, yet somehow the short floats also dropped in a couple of days from >250% to <40%. Even Michael Burry is calling out foul-play on what he's seeing in the market and he's the biggest retard there is.

The hedges need to bleed pressure off from the incoming squeeze price explosion. The tactic is the same as usual:
>Can't move the diamond retards, so they're not the target
>Instead get normies, and NEETs looking to gamble their stimulus money
>Setup dual-narratives : one for hope, to buy into the dip, rejoice at every peak
>One for doubt to sell at every peak, by creating fear of drops and losing money, because they haven't educated themselves on anything around what's happening
>People spin themselves crazy on the wheel of hope and doubt, eventually become unstable with fear, and sell the shares right to the hedges out of their trembling hands

This is why "FRIDAY (1/29) IS IT!" Was pushed as disinformation, because the bandwagon chucklefucks don't know anything and will literally run in whatever direction they hear. Then when it turns out "hold" isn't just a meme and is something *they* actually have to do, they pussy out and sell their shares.
Dumb normies, once again, ruining it for everyone.
But truly, what you're seeing today is more class, and psychological warfare.
We truly live in the age of dank memes.

This is a pretty reasonable post. Just decide on a price (ideally a high one) you would sell at, accept you might not hit it (chiefly due to foul play on behalf of hedgies) and go on with your life. If you have an app like Robinhood it will ping you (or sell automatically) when and if the stock hits your desired price anyway. To add to your recommended reading, I suggest Scott Adams’ “Win Bigly: persuasion in a world where facts don’t matter” and “loserthink: how untrained brains are ruining america” to understand the persuasion techniques being used by shills to try and convince you of facts using emotions. He’s not just the Dilbert maker, he’s also a sort of successor to Dale Carnegie, and has over 20 years experience in economics. He even made “fuck you money” by investing in Apple back in the day using the same techniques he uses now.
When asked to comment on gme last week, he gave the general advice “there are usually about as many winners as losers, so the goal is to try and be one of the winners not the losers.”

If you don't mind playing by the rules, you're more than free to become a day trader like anyone else. And the big houses already are, so they don't care about the extra paperwork and costs.

But if you're a small retail investor, getting classified as a PDT is possibly the worst thing that can happen to you. But as long as you don't buy/sell the same day, you'll never have to worry about it.

An unrelated example of how knowing the rules can make your life easier...

... if you own a company and pay payroll, you have to file a quarterly tax form. You don't have to file the forms until the first time you pay an employee; but once you do, you have to file every quarter forever even if you no longer have payroll. So, if you simply never take money out of the business, you can accumulate without ever having to file the paperwork for the first few years.

Realistically if the hedgies aren't out yet, and most evidence suggests they aren't, surely they will bail on Monday and just take the L rather than let Tuesday come, be completely exposed beyond all doubt and then have people pile on on the stock.

I think the threat of the update on Tuesday is going to be the mover. If nothing happens on Monday they are either safe or being very ballsy and will probably get eaten alive.

It's more than just the 25k. There are tax issues, paperwork issues, limits to what losses you can declare, and a bunch of shitty little details worth avoiding.

You could drop your 25k in a cash account and be further ahead, as long as you don't mind not being able to write certain options.

Also, with the wash rule (which day traders by definition bypass), there are additional problems down the line.

To be fair, there ARE legitimate reasons for the rule.

If, for example, it takes 2+ days for a transaction to clear, the day trader is basically playing with money they don't have yet. This is why they require a margin account: you're basically using your credit to float the money that is still being reconciled.

But again, it only becomes a problem if you're small trader who doesn't know the rules and gets stuck behind the 8-ball by mistake. For most robinhood traders (who buy fractional shares $40 at a time), 25k might as well be a million, for as unlikely as they are to have the cash.

The real problem, in my opinion, is that RH tried to market itself to crypto traders, who operate under different rules. So while they were small, they could afford to let the rules slide with their clients; but once RH hit the radar, they suddenly have to make sure they're following ALL the rules with their clients.

And yes, not worth it. You can buy at 3pm and sell at 10am the next day as often as you want without a problem Being an "every other day trader" is much less hassle.
