For every dollar spent on investment so far, we have and will continue to make a little more than 3 dollars per dollar.
>IIPR is real estate
>per dollar invested in land that land is giving us 3/4 dollars per dollar we spent.
>IIPR is currently worth more than 200$ for a reason
Also dividends of 1.26 because it is an REIT. which grants special taxes. I am in accounting. This is absolutely long term gains. Though it can be used for short term on penny stocks. you can see whether or not there is growth or stagnation.
Pretty much so long as you don't come up negative in the equation; your company is going to do fine and should grow in the stock market. These are fundamentals and do not cover the current clown market; though this is what I used to get into my cannabis stocks.

Why is there no attention around stocks on the internet compared to their relative value in society? There's a lot of random ass boomer forums and there's financial news, but reddit and /biz/ are the only places people talk stocks really, and up until GME most people didn't even care about stocks on reddit. And even when people do care about stocks, 80% of the time they only care about a handful of meme stocks, tsla, or index investing, barely any talk of ETF's or other equities.

They do, I think the problem with that though is that when you're going hyper bullish and fully invested in the stonks only go up mindset it decays your ability to critically value companies and more importantly trends. So when the bear market does come you will struggle to pivot your mindset to one that works in a bear market, you will find yourself making those snap decision gut feeling plays that would've worked well in a bull market, but in a bear market lose you money, because you've trained yourself to not lose money double guessing yourself when things only go up. It's a war of attrition, and sometimes you will end up losing out by keeping that bearish mindset around.

Not that it fucking matters though, I fully believe we've embarked into a paradigm of "markets go up until they break", there will never be a downside only up and then when things do collapse the markets are just broken and bears don't get to cash out anyway.

No. Most do worse on the downside too. In particular, unless you held large short positions into March you got reamed,.
Where do you think the fuel for the endless meme squeezes on NKLA, SPCE, TSLA, etc. come from?
Index outperformed mutual funds for decades. They rebranded themselves into tax haven versions that could take short positions and were still beaten by indexes. The only reason they exist is that something on the order of 5% of them DO beat the indexes and so big money treats that part of their portfolio as speculative.

What's the point of this?

Well, since for the most part, it's just as difficult to make a "bad" investment as a "good" investment, you can't really fuck up.

When you bought into GME, you took a risk. When you lost that 250k, that was just the toll for going for that big gain. Your mistakes were as follows:

1. Trusting Reddit
2. Caring about upvotes more than money
3. Confusing political goals with financial goals
4. Thinking the little guy can get away with billions of dollars of squeeze/pump and dump without some part of the illuminati interfering
5. Being a greedy fucker that won't settle for a million dollars in profit. Jesus Christ man

Your solutions are as follows:
1. Rigidly assess exactly what you have lost by losing $250k in cash (what you would have used the money for had you not lost it). Chances are you're rich enough that it quite honestly doesn't really matter. You're still a very rich man.
2. Take some time away from the internet and return to the physical world. This will clear your mind and return you to your good old self
3. Talk with others about your experience trading (if you can trust them with this info). This will clear your conscience and return you to your good old self.

Once you feel normal and back in control, just go back to making money, just like you were before. Don't try to do it right now, you're too unbalanced at the moment.

I think that I am retarded about this but I take profits pretty much every time my time-adjusted returns are outsized. For ex, if I buy a stock and then the next day it goes up 4.5%, I sell the stock, because no stock can go up 4.5% every day. I do this even though I think that the stock is worth more than the new price. This way I can profit from short term price movements or change in market perceives fundamental value over the long term. If I buy a stock and it goes up 1.5% the same day I sell it. Right now my rule is 1.5% actual return and 100%+ time adjusted return when selling a quick gainer like this. Might be a brainlet though.

There's no downside to treating a handful of shit stocks as a proper portfolio and allocating assets appropriately. For most people, the benefit of diversification is being able to sell high and buy low through continuous rebalancing.

eg.
>Own portfolio of 50% shitticker A and 50% shitticker B
>A goes up 20%, B goes down 10%
>Sell enough of A and buy enough of B to maintain 50/50
Now you've bought B at a low, sold A at a high point, minimizing exposure to A dumping and investing in the potential for B to moon.

I got out with 19k profit on a 16k investment in GME - even though my numbers are far smaller than yours I got out with a high percentage which is what mattered (19k is also a very large amount for me as I am young). I would say the best way would be to look at your account balance and to ask yourself if you like the way it looks. That's what worked for me - once I felt the mild euphoria start to set in when my account balance started climbing, I knew it was time to sell. It's a very specific amount of euphoria that you have to hone, but the literal phrase "I like the way my bank account looks right now" seems to pinpoint that precise amount the best for me.

This is the problem with the "buy every dip mentality"
The reason the market dipped with the trump and the capitol and the clearing house dramas was because it could be the beginning of a real problem that started out small. Kind of like the crisis in 2008 at the beginning was nothing but a few mortgage loans that couldn't be paid off and then it blew up to bring down the whole system.
If you can filter out false alarms from the real thing more power to you but be ready to take big losses if you're wrong.

Just to help prepare you for the 6 figure gauntlet just keep this in mind:

> How long did it take you to reach $1k?
> How much money can you consistently save to reach $1k?
> You have to do that ten more times to reach $10k. 10x that for $100k. 10x that for $1M.

That is based off of pure savings. It accelerates the more interest you can make off of your savings. Play with a compound interest calculator and see how much your investments can drive that time down.

I mean, it's not some stream where if you drink all the water it'll dry up. It's not going to erode just by looking...
If we are really going to feel the effects, why would we feel them right as the vaccine is kicking in & businesses are re-opening?

I dunno in my mind it feels super frothy but also that I'll be able to time it lol... even though that's an unrealistic goal.

I’m have stop losses in place. I wouldn’t buy the stock at this level, so I’m nervous about holding it

If you're actually timing the market (which is nigh impossible), the gains from selling on green and buying on red (avoiding losses) would outweigh the tax implications. See pic

If Elon wasn't a r*dditor TSLA would be sub $100. The entire valuation is a feedback loop of his Leddit personality cult making headlines and pumping the stock then the company's valuation pumping Elon's clout as a person who matters

Did they get the patent from KONE that was selling this product in the US since 2018? If they didn't flat out steal the design from them then they're just rebranding a product that doesn't appear to be successful in the first place, and even if it is, why not get it from KONE to save the OPTI markup?

I unironically think the SEC needs to investigate OPTI. How they got away with claiming their product easily doubles fuel economy I'll never know.

The valid reason is that we're living in clown markets. It's going to keep pumping as long as the market keeps pumping. People shorting it lose because they don't understand that we're not in a value market. It's fueled by hype and infinite liquidity. I reckon it could hit a 5k p/e and still keep pumping. It doesn't have to make sense anymore. The madness only stops when the market tanks.

I guess the ability to create money and shares out of thin air with no assets to back them causes infinite liquidity and fundamentals other than hype don't matter anymore. Only a system crash could change this
