Ah very good question!

The metal in the core is not the same metal that we mine in the crust and upper mantle. The cores metals sank down there when the earth was still a molten blob, the metals we mine were deposited during the second and late bombardment eras of earth, this is also where liquid water set up shop on the surface. By this point the plant had cooled enough to form multiple layers and became more plastic than fluid, so the molten metallic elements could not sink deeper than the mid mantle. Than after water showed up and brine action began with plate tectonics, fluids began to work their way towards the surface in the form of magma. This magma also picked up dissolved elements and water / brines with it, which when nearing the surface (4-10km) quickly shot into faults and fissures generating the first quartz fissure veins as well as the first VMS and Porphyry deposits. This process is on going too, gold veins can in some instances form in a week end after an earth quake, how ever much of this process is still alien to us. Such as how these metallic elements like gold become dissolved in the super enriched fluids.

not really, if you want the absolute cheapest, get silver shot.

Ive heard that this is considered one of the worst silver you can get BUT that was because it was not labeled.
I plan to use a mold or at least a stamp to all the information along with a certified card stating what brand my bars and rounds are and the number created.

Will this allow me to sell at a normal markup if it ever comes time to sell?

But crypto guys get to go on mainstream news and actively shill their shitcoin with exactly the doomer economic crash scenario that PM people suggest. I find it interesting all the scientific supposition about the core without direct evidence. Your assertion that “this process is still alien to us” is very apt. What a fascinating little rock we find ourselves on. Quite unlike anything else in the solar system and, likely, in our Milky Way neighborhood. I find it probable that the core of the earth would have many heavy elements existing in stratified layers that synergistically create fusion energy and by juxtaposition our fantastic and life affirming magnetosphere.

I like your theory of plastic earth stratification. That makes more sense when you put it that way.

There are several tiers:
T1: SLV is complete paper. They can print it up just like fiat. It's owned by JP Morgan and it's backed up by a reserve called the comex. They print the stuff like candy and it's overleveraged almost 200 to 1. This is what the media reports as "silver price" but you may hear the term "spot" here. If the comex dies off then the actual price of silver becomes obvious but it's held down intentionally to keep everyone else poor. Buying SLV just gives money to JP Morgan. What happened is they printed off another 4x the annual global production in one day.
T2: PSLV is paper but can be redeemed for silver. Acceptable, but not ideal. They made a big buy recently to backup their reserves.
T3: Actual silver. Bars, coins, etc. Something you can hold in your hands. When people here talk about silver, it's almost always this.

I dont know what they are, restless spirits of miners watching out for their kindred or some ancient force that wanders the depths of mines, but Tommy Knockers are real. 50% of my coworkers have seen or experienced them underground. Wandering in the depths of a forgotten mine with friends and watching a small blue light float at head level down the drift in front of you is so surreal. Or hearing men work air drills and gear just down the next section of drift only to find no one there is a strange experience.

Pic related came from a mine in Colorado and ended up on a few tv shows. I have another similar shot from a mine in northwest BC.

Because the banks run the Federal Reserve and order the printing of our money. Money that was previously backed up or made of physical silver/gold. Right now the common man sees the safest way to store their money in US Federal Reserve Notes locked up in a bank. If silver/gold were unleashed to the state they should be at, unmanipulated by unbacked paper trading, the common man would start to think Silver and Gold is the safe way to go, effectively destroying banks entirely.

Since banks can print as much money as they want, whenever they want, even in the event of a bank rush they can just print up more. They cannot create more physical silver nor gold to dish out. This keeps people's money in the bank forever, allowing banks to loan out however much money they want to anyone they want whenever they want. More loans = more money for the bank.

To make it short (pun intended), physical silver and gold cannot be faked. It's easy to test, and impossible to simply create out of think air or print onto a sheet of paper. Banks don't want to deal in this actual, physical, tangible, unmanipulable currency.

>but tempted to go all in..
NEVER go all in onto a junior anon, even miners themselves would tell you it's basically the riskiest kind of companies to invest on worldwide.

There is no other business with so many things who can go wrong in so many ways than miners. Especially juniors, they have to overcome so many difficulties and random stuff it's almost never worth it. They LITERALLY have to be lucky for their things to start to operate, because of random grades hitting random veins hoping to not get blocked by random shit... And that's just on a geological level, then you have all the political game, the native racket, the governmental corruption, the endless regulations, permits, authorizations, ecology hazard, prices of arsenic, oil, ammonium nitrate, cyanide and others products eating huge part of your gains, random accidents killing your employees, your material breaking up, limited access to the terrains, silver & gold prices swinging widely all the time, etc etc etc....

A safe PF would contain 0% of miners. Every fund manager would tell you that.
Of course we stackers are a different breed, but really fren, the potential rewards are not worth the risks, especially now we are entering the ecolotyranny clown timeline, where miners are literally public ennemies number 1. How many more bullshit regulations will they invent? Or forbidding the miners to use X or Y chemical?

If you really want to bet on miners, at least go for the big names, they already went down all the process successfully. It's way harder to kill an already operating mine. I'd say 80% big names and 20% juniors/explorations.

look, I’m not saying gold is going to zero, I’m saying it’s going negative
the Grayscale Trust documentary #DropGold is perfect evidence of this
in it we see a man that is so heavy from his gold he can BARELY WALK and that’s at $1800 an ounce, imagine how heavy he’d be at $10 an ounce
at that point miners who produce millions of tons of gold every year will have to start paying people to take all their gold, and what do you think will happen to the man in the documentary then? he will LITERALLY get CRUSHED TO DEATH under the weight of his gold, and if you think gold prices are low at -$200 an ounce wait til you see what happens when people realize gold is a literal death trap, I’m talking -$500,000 an ounce gold
and if you think owning miners will be safe, just wait until the lawsuits start rolling in from the loved ones of people that have been crushed to death from worthless gold
you guys are stupid, I have massive multibillion dollar institutions on my side, all you have is a bunch of crazy goldbug peepers with tinfoil hats

Most were poor slum rats while others were miners who were no penniless, these miners than managed to talk the south african criminal underworld to fund the illegal miners activities for a percentage while also protecting the miners from government forces. It seems like Grayscale started their trust first and now there are Venture Bitcoin Trusts popping up in all over world. Soon, every major bank, insurance company, pension fund is going to be buying up bitcoin and treat it like its a mutual fund, etf or stock.

Its all too tiresome seeing this happening. Bitcoin, instead of liberating the world and making it being used as an actual currency. Its all centralized in China and its being treated as a speculated asset in America.

That must be so surreal. Deepest I’ve ever been was a bit lower than 1km and that was quite the experience (coal though, so very different from gold mining)
But besides depth bragging, how do you folks deal with the fact that your PMs have to either rise about 20-40% (depending on where you’re buying) or that society has to collapse just in the exact way you’re expecting in order for you to break even, should you actually need the money you put into it?
Sure, long term (10 years ++) it’ll work out, so that’s why I’d only put in amounts where I’m sure I won’t need them, but there’s a few folks here that appear to have a lot of their wealth tied up in PMs. What’s your game plan?

I would recommend going directly to a company's website and getting their financial statements there. Every public company has to publish their FS quarterly and that will be your best source of info. As of Nov 2020 it looks like they've got 11M in cash and 1.2M in total liabilities. I dont know anything else about Irving but just looking at their balance sheet they've got a good stack of cash on hand and few liabilities

Jesus Christ thats grim but yes there are silver mines in CAR and Congo which work pretty well the same way, a population of slaves work a mine for their freedom. You can also look at the Garimpeiros of Bolivia and Peru. These guys work for free in exchange for one day a month where they can mine as much ore as they can for themselves as payment. Many die before the age of 25.

When you are trying to value something else as currency than the USD, you have to have the means to protect it from the US military, which is the only thing that backs the US as reserve currency around the world. Alternative currencies are a threat to US hegemony, which is why crypto"currencies" aren't a threat; if they were a threat, they would already be neutralized and regulated into oblivion with all the armies of lawyers in America mobilized for total war against crypto. They can't do that with gold and silver. Even when Roosevelt issued orders of confiscation, they weren't able to take it.

The Jews and their ilk want to create a way out of their system with cheap precious metals so that anyone smart enough to realize their enslavement will have have a way of protecting their wealth when the currency collapses. Having metals cheap means that when the system collapses they can just say "sorry all your money's worthless goy, too bad you didn't buy Silver when it was so cheap, it's not our fault you were so stupid". When the current system comes tumbling down those who maintained their wealth through PMs will have to either join their ranks (while still being viewed as inferior), giving them new genes and us jewish wives; or get eliminated by whatever Golem they decide to sick on you.

While there's an obvious point about 'the weak/retarded/stupid should fucking up get fucked over if they fall for it'; I disagree with the active pursuit of making everybody fail, and only those with their feet off the ground not getting dropped.
It's one thing for everybody to be at 0, and retards falling to -1. It's another thing entirely to fuck with people to the point that you put a timer in which everybody will drop to -1 (retards falling to -10) and only the non-retards get the 'privalege' of staying at 0, while the people dropping everyone else to -1 go from to 14 to 15.

There should be a good window to do this (as well as to get off the map if necessary) when the hyperinflation comes. Hyperinflation always comes in two waves one small first wave followed by a massive second wave. In between these two waves you should be able to get a high quality white girl just by showing you can provide for her through the coming economic uncertainty.

If you're into valuing a coin by year and limited releases - you'll love the autism that comes with the 4C's of diamond and general gem valuation (cut, colour, clarity and carat) - if not, you'll very easily scammed buying a shitty cut diamond or a mid-clarity for 120% above actual value.
If you really know how to squeeze a premium and market an item, then they're great for buying/selling in bullish economies for a side-gig if you've got the starter investment and time to learn (and even in bear economies - everybody in the West likes Diamonds, there's always a market for it, demand is a non-existant problem) - but ultimately we here at /pmg/ prefer our lower-effort bear economy profiting metals. Lumber and Bricks behave closer to PMs than Diamonds do.

Related is Houseki no Kuni; you'll probably like it given your own image and the topic (I get that it's somewhat well known, but just in case you or anybody else reading haven't heard of the only good 3D anime ever made, and wanted to see what /a/ can be all about past shounenshit and moeshit. This is a multi-disciplinary general, after all, no shame in testing the waters).

>> No.27805671

tl;dr 4C's.
A synthetic diamond is like setting a machine to play a symphony or having two supercomputers play chess with one another instead of two grandmasters; while it might hit all the key notes it needs to, it lacks 'organicness'/soul which can't be replicated and which keeps masters of the field at the top (abstract shit, I know, but it's how it is). They're also very easily identified, which means that, past industrial usage, jewellers will call them out. If you're just after 'a' diamond, then synthetics will do the job (regardless of what autismos in the industry say). If you want a valuable diamond (the kind you can put in a ring, which is what most people are after), you're playing a different ballgame alltogether. That's why diamond drill bits and diamond rings are so far removed in value.

With high-priced gems, you're paying for exclusivity and the quality of that exclusivity. 1 Hope Diamond is worth millions, 50,000 Hope Diamonds are worth nothing. Furthermore, Diamonds aren't the only gem around, which is why gems like Emeralds, Rubies and (especially with the rise of the Chinese market) Jade are on the rise - all of which use the same general principles as Diamond valuation.

Honestly? Jewllers or eBay. As a tl;dr on what you want to go in asking for, just look for a high carat (weight) diamond, then prepare your anus on how extra much you want to spend. A high carat / large diamond alone can be relatively (relatively, these are diamonds we're talking about here) cheap if you're willing to skimp on the other 3 C's:
- Clarity = How well you can see through it - crystal clear = more, but hyper-murky is also expensive too - somewhere in the middle tending towards murky is cheapest. Scratched up diamonds are also cheap to this end.
- Colour = What colour it is - transparent is expensive, tinted even moreso - the cheapest ones have areas which alter the light in a way that create translucent or even opaque areas
- Cut = How well it's made - finely detailed gem-shapes cost the most, raw hunks or gem/rock are cheaper

I've been working on a guide for the OP (still in progress, since I wanna make it comprehensive so there isn't threadwars faggotry); but in short I'd say first, buy a single ounce of Silver, to get an idea for what you're getting into and how it works - then once you've got the hang of it, think of a portfolio/split.
Gold for the Hold, Silver for the Short. Gold generates slow, but guaranteed value; Silver is more volitile, doesn't grow over time as much, but in a crash is more likely to spike higher (at which point you convert it into Gold, and then wait until you need it to convert back to currency, or for a next crash to begin to build to repeat)
Look into what spot price is, get a general idea of premium over spot you're dealing with for physical then either get the cheapest at-spot metal you can, or for some countries you have extra things to consider (eg bongs don't pay a penny in tax if their PM is national coinage, so for them, it's worth paying a little more specifically for Britannias/Sovereigns)

Before >2020, my general reccomendation was 60/40 Gold/Silver; with a diversification into Palladium (over Platinum, Rhodium or Copper) as a tertiary if you 'really' wanted one. As of now, I'd say the same is still a safe bet, but putting more into the Silver end of your split would be much less risky.
Finally if you're going for bullion(bars), remember to get at least some coinage too, it's much easier to throw around 1oz (or in a Mercury dime, 0.1oz) for day-to-day liquidity than it is 1-10kg
