27721543 No.27721543 [Reply] [Original]

I've never invested a dollar in my life but after seeing what happened with Bitcoin, I'm not gonna miss out.
I have $15000 life savings, I'm thinking of investing a couple grand in ethereum and just keeping it long term.
Tell me why I should or shouldn't do this.

>> No.27721647

>>27721543
You should do it but at a lower price point, it will retract someday. It is going up to probably $2000 but then will recede.

>> No.27721659

>>27721543
You absolutely should. I'd put as much as you're willing to lose into Ethereum. It's going to explode in price.

DYOR before investing rather than fomo, this coin is dogshit with retarded fees that make its entire ecosystem not viable.

It's not bitcoin, it does not have a hard cap of 21 million coins. It will not reach bitcoin levels of value. I know that's what a lot of newbs think, like it's just cheaper bitcoin but it is NOT.

$1580 is an absurd price. Nobody in the crypto world even likes ETH, we all think it's shit but hey it's made us money. It will be replaced soon enough mostly because of the insane transaction fees. ETH 2.0 might as well be a decade away and doesn't even fix much it's just a massive tourniquet. DOT, AVA or ADA or a split between them is probably a better choice for a longer term hold.
The real question is why not Bitcoin? It's the safest crypto investment.

>> No.27722340

it's use is extremely widespread and the fees should be solved by 2.0, you won't kill its install base in 2 years while you wait for 2.0 to come out, eth killers are a mith

ETH is the backbone of defi and of 99% of all the shitcoin fuckery in here. It's about to change to PoS and limit its supply. While PoS at this scale hasn't been proven yet, it's high likely to pump to 10k or even higher in the next 2 years.
Obviously buy as much as you can, but consider cost averaging, if you can't handle being down 50%.

If you want to hold long term, go for GRT. Other than being one of the surest long term investment in crypto space (I'd say even more than BTC, honestly), you can stake them to earn interest with ~20% APY. Go here to ask questions >>27705108

Regardless, I suggest diversifying a bit at the very last. For example, it's likely, but not entirely sure that ETH will last 10 years, as it risks to be supplanted by something more efficient like AVAX. I suggest against it. If you really have to, just go for Bitcoin. At this point it's almost guaranteed to hit one million dollars somewhere down the line.

>> No.27728577

Know this, /biz/ paradoxically hates ETH because they missed the boat AND the fact that it hasn’t shot up to $20k like Bitcoin. ETH holders choose slow and steady. The technology and mainstream adoption is growing, despite being below ATH.

Buy and hold, but if you can’t stomach 25% drops every now and then, don’t bother buying. Also, if you don’t think you’re going to get dumped on with DOT and AVAX, you’re wrong. A lower price point, like with stocks, means nothing, other than early adopters want to take their money and go

So I got into Krypto recently.

I basically only use Binance, have invested 50€ in BTC and 30 in ETH (just to test out how buying and selling works)

Whats the next step here? Should I get a wallet? Is there a wallet for each currency? Is Binance a wallet?

I could use some tips
