The orders are probably below market price, thats it. In fact, that being the case makes perfect sense when you think about the stock going down - the orders are only being filled when sellers adjust their prices downwards. The more orders below market price, the more sellers reduce their price and the lower the stock falls. you've already cleared a ton of confusion , if you don't mind to answer more question around options , i understand if you can't be arsed to answer
when it comes to call options :
1) if an option expires below the current market , that's in the money right ? normally if you sell that option you can get more than the money you would get if you exercise it , unless you think the stock would go up , why would you exercise it ?
2 ) if the current market price is above the strike price , that call option is out of the money , you can sell it for 0.01 , who the fuck buys it ? and if it expires are you forced to buy that option ?
i can ask the same thing for puts but i guess the answers would be reversed

1) Most people don't hold a call option to expiration. If you don't have strike * 100 your brokerage will probably auto sell it for market value a few minutes before it expires. If you do actually hold it you have to pay 100 * strike to exercise and you'll get 100 shares. You can sell it during extended hours or wait till monday. Since there is no time left its "extra" value is $0 at that point.
2) If it expires out of the money, its worthless, it just disappears from your account.

>> No.27668595

>>27667612
I think you might have it backwards.

1) For a call, if the option expires and the market price is less than the strike price, it won't exercise automatically. Maybe you can exercise it manually, but that would be literally retarded. Why buy a share for a $10 strike price if you can just buy it on the market for $5? It'd be throwing money away. You are OTM.

2) If the market price is higher than the strike price, you ITM. In that case, you COULD exercise the option, buy 100 shares at the $5 strike price, and then immediately sell them for them $10 market price each, and pocket $5/share (minus what you paid to buy the option)

Trading options before the expiration date gets very complicated. There are multiple factors that go into setting the prices, such as how far the strike price is above/below the market price, AND how much time is left until the expiration. If today is Monday, and the market is $4 below strike, that's 5 days for it to make up the difference. But, if it's Friday morning and it's still $4 below strike... that's a lot less time. You'll get less money if you try to sell that option, assuming you can even sell it.

It might help to look at the options yourself: https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/AMC/options?p=AMC
You can see the different strike prices and the current prices for those options.
(Open interest is the number of Options sold and not exercised)

Oh, I thought you were complaining about pump and dumps. But are you asking how buying crypto fucks wallstreet? Because wallstreet owns stocks, not crypto. Some of them own crypto, but in general the rich do not have that much crypto relative to stocks, so buying crypto will increase your wealth faster than it increases the rich's.

For example, the top 1% own 50% of the stock market. So for every $1 a person in the 99% makes on stocks, a person in the top 1% makes almost 100x that. The rules are also different for retail and hedge funds / investment banks, severely disadvantaging retail (wallstreet sets the rules). For crypto its a much more level playing field on both parts (no one can change the rules).

Crypto is also rigged (whale manipulation), it's just without stupid 70yo boomer retards who think everything is on the level and Trump is mean because he calls out pedos on twitter you don't have the type of attitude where people are uncautious pieces of shit and then get raped.

Crypto is the wild west and that's a good thing- no one pretends it's sanitized or safe, so people are more likely to strike it rich and go from 10k to 1m in a bullrun over the course of two years than on the stock market where a 'lucky run' is like 10k to 150k over a year.
