Historically, GRT is a pump and dump. Hate to break it to you folks, but it is. These are the facts. People saying it isn't, you're on the wrong side of the data. The entire market is being run by trade bots. Large GRT tokens have been already allocated to holders, way before GRT even hit the exchange platforms, because of testnet operations (before mainnet).

I estimate each token to be valued at 0.30-0.35 maximum until larger companies want to use it, which currently they don't, because it is too expensive too. ETH is expensive, in general, to use anyway.

With that being said, GRT is a utility token which means the price has to remain low for companies to even want to use it. It is just the way it is right now

Question for fellow GRT chads: how does the rising price per GRT change the suggested minimum delegate stack?

When GRT was around 0.50, it sounds like most of us were saying around 4k-5k GRT was the minimum you'd want to delegate because of gas fees and 0.5% loss. Now that we're seeing 0.80+, does the minimum delegate stack lower to 3000 GRT?

This anon breaks it down well, there is no necessity for the graph to function at high token price. Price does not = use

Unlike chainlink which must increase as larger transactions are facilitated on the network.

I think the rebuttal here is how necessary the graph index is and the limited supply of coins. With billions of queries per month (it's expected to be in the trillions by eoy) the supply being held by investors will make the price go substantially high.

Assuming it captures the market the burn in system of 1% of the transaction being destroyed will have the supply exponentially drop increasing our profits. I bet 9k on this happening. But i can be wrong.

The graph network can function at any price at $30 dollars a token and $.00001 a token. The amount of GRT needed to pay the people indexing the data their minimum wage is constant.

If they do it for $200 dollars that could be 200 GRT or 1 GRT it's irrelevant to the function of the network.

What we're doing when we hodl GRT is creating scarcity of something that is very necessary for the functioning of the future blockchain.

This sounds amazing until the problem of the 10 billion supply hits the market. GRT is a long term hold.

I'm hoping that in the next 6 months when the 300 million new GRT are released the price will be high enough to take the hit and still be in the green for me. Great long term hold.

you put your GRT in an index
it secures the network
you get paid in GRT for it, based on how much you put in and the rewards the indexer set
if you want to pull out, you have to wait 28 days after undelegating, which is the only downside. Besides the indexer possibly removing rewards, which is why you go with a good one.

With your mother well-being and health on the line. I wouldn't want to bet this crypto to be your moon shot to help pay with expensives. But it also depends on how much capital you have available for GRT and the cost of medical care. I believe GRT to be a safe invesment. But it's anyone's guess how this year ends. We could go parabolic and have a bull market that last longer than 3 months.

Trust yourself and your own research.

GRT solves a problem. The problem is big. It's solvable without The Graph, but it's a huge pain. It involves writing a lot of complicated, custom code, which takes time and effort, and introduces the risk of making a mistake somewhere along the way. It's boilerplate code that shouldn't have to be rewritten for every single project!

The Graph removes an entire layer of writing decentralized apps. I think of it like what game engines did for the games industry. Years ago, before game engines like Unreal and Unity existed, game programmers had a lot more tedious work to do. They needed to write custom graphics code themselves to do something as simple as rendering a cube on the screen. They had to write complex code that would interact with the sound card, just to play audio. But then game engines came along and said...

Hey game programmers, you all keep writing this same complicated stuff over and over again! Why don't we bundle all that complex functionality together into a tool that you can easily reuse for all your games That way you focus your time on writing the code that's actually specific to your game.

What did that do for the games industry It resulted in an explosion of new developers and better games. Suddenly, it was so much easier for indie software developers to make full-fledged games, without having to spend weeks just trying to get a damn cube shown on the screen. People who would have never dreamed of making a game were able to get involved.

The Graph does something similar for decentralized apps. With it, developers can spend less time writing the complicated but common stuff. They can spend more time on the app itself.

Your gun might be fucked but you’ll be fine. The round fits but since it’s bottlenecked there isn’t a tight fit in the chamber. Shotgun barrels are straight and don’t taper. So the round expands and cracks and doesn’t generate the normal pressure. It is much much higher pressure than a shotgun shell so your bolt might get a little messed up but you won’t be harmed.
