Reminder that ARK is chosen by GOD HIMSELF

>I decided to name my company after the Ark of the Covenant, because as I was going through that very difficult period starting in ‘06, where the market, nothing made sense to me, I started reading the One-Year Bible, after I would read the passage for the day, I would then just open it up randomly and say, “God, speak to me. Just show me what to do. Show me Your will. Show me Your way.”

>Not every time I did that, but I would say every third or fourth time, I would run into the Ark of the Covenant being taken with Israelites, taking the Ark of the Covenant into battle before them, because they thought that the presence of God was in the Ark of the Covenant. As I began to get this idea of a firm going and realized that I was fighting this war, I knew I had to name my company “ARK” for Ark of the Covenant.

>I founded it out of faith. I got this calling one day when I walked into my home. It was a beautiful summer day. I walked in to complete silence, which was very unusual in my household at that time. The children were all gone to Christian camps and other activities. And so I was all alone for the first time ever in my house, all alone for two full weeks. And I walked over to the kitchen island and I wasn’t happy and I wasn’t sad. I was just, Wow, this has never happened to me before.

>As soon as I said that to myself, I felt a wham and I really feel like that was the Holy Spirit just saying to me, “Okay, this is the plan.” And the idea was basically, “Look, you’ve been a student of disruptive innovation your entire career. Why don’t you disrupt your own industry? It’s broken. Why do you disrupt it with some of these new technologies? Why don’t you harness social media? Why don’t you invite people in—even your competitors—to brainstorm about these new ideas, to help spread the word?” And so I did that, and it’s been amazing. It’s so much better than anything that I could have possibly imagined.

She was also cute

One of the issues is r*dditors that don’t inherently understand how a short squeeze is supposed to behave and think they can just buy the dip, or somehow just think it’s going to moon and fucking stay high like it’s fucking Tesla.
The result of this will be upwards buying pressure that slows the decent via “buy the dip” on the tail end of the bubble lel

Margin is basically a temporary loan offered by your broker to let you use profit before they settle, and to let you leverage your positions, AKA let you do things like agree to get 50% more profit in return for agreeing to pay 50% more if you lose that money.

Holy shit I didn't realise you were using CFDs
KEK

A contract for differences is an agreement that two people (or groups) enter into. In this contract, there is an asset. It could be a stock, a commodity (like oil or gold), or anything really. The contract lists a specific date. At the end of that date, you take the price of the asset, and compare it to the price of the asset when the contract was signed/created. If that asset has appreciated (increased in value), in that time, the person who sold the CFD pays the buyer the amount the asset increased by. If the asset depreciated (decreased in value), the buyer pays the seller that difference.

Lets say to place the bet I needed to put down £10k, when I trade on margin, I might put up £1k and the broker puts down the rest of the bet.
If I'm right I pocket all the net profit. If I'm wrong I pay the broker back the full amount, not just the amount I put down initially.

There's a reason it's banned in the USA, it's the easiest way to blow up your account.

Trading with CFDs is intrinsically margin, that's just what they are. CFDs are literally banned from being used by U.S. citizens, i would just avoid them completely.
You don't have to use margin, if you can, contact your broker's customer service and ask if you have a margin enabled account. If you want, you can ask them to disable margin, but then you have to worry about T+2 rules, which means you can't use profits from a stock to buy and sell another stock for at least two days after the initial sell.

was the cfd with margin? so leveraged? if so you can loose more than that, thats why they close the position automatically, atleast in my broker, you could loose all cash in the account theoretically, here an excerpt:

>For instance, if you place a CFD trade worth £1,000 and the margin rate for the applicable tier is 5%, you only need to fund 5% of the total value of the position, known as position margin. In this case, you only need to allocate £50 to open the trade. If, however, the price of the instrument moves against you by 10%, you would lose £100 – double your initial stake in the CFD trade.

It would be more if you used leverage (i.e. had $50 in account, but broker let you invest $500), but even then, the position would usually be automatically closed when the stock drops to $450 and your account has no funds to cover more losses.
CFDs don't involve exchanging stock, so it's something like a bet, that the stock will go up/down. Now I wonder how many retards actually hold GME CFDs, and not the stock.

My robo advisor account has seen 19% returns for both 2019 and 2020. Is it worth trying to play the market and beat those kinds of returns? Currently holding PLTR, DAL, and thinking of finding one or two other companies to invest in. Not sure if it’s worth it to picking up stocks after that.

I bought 30 GME at 80 and sold at 285. I thought it would go up because it had been shorted 130% and there was so much hype around it that it seemed like a perfect pump. People had been talking about GME for a while as well (it was on everyone's mind, so much opportunity for a p&d), so it just seemed perfect. I sold at 285 on Thursday because having its trading banned/restricted guaranteed it'd dump, and this suspicion was supported by the absolute drop in volume. The volume on Thursday was like one third of what it was on Tuesday. It had been all over the news everywhere in the world. If the volume was that low and the sell wall kept coming down then the thing was destined to eat shit.
