I always see the the PE ratio being used as an indicator of a cheap stock but wouldn't it be better to take the change of the revenue, EBIT, profits etc compared to the prior year(s) in relation to the market cap? This way you would actually see how the growth of the company is evaluated by the market and it would be easier to see if the company is undervalued.
Is there an indicator like this already or am I just being retarded and missing something?

I just ran the numbers on a new options strategy I want to try... selling credit spreads + hedging with shares and OTM calls. the ROI seems crazy high. I calculated 4.96% return over a 10 day period. that seems too high for what should be a low risk position. Heres my thinking: for PLTR i would buy 15.46 shares, sell a 2/12 34c and buy 2x 2/12 44c. which would make my position delta neutral until the price moves at which point the gamma (which would be .0114) throws off the delta neutrality so for every 1$ the stock moves ill have to buy or sell 1 share. so i would need to spend 490.70 for the shares and I would need to put up $1000 collateral for the credit spread. with a net profit of $74 and a principle of 1490.70 that leaves me with, 4.964% return in 10 days. Is it really that simple?

Thanks for the advice. I've tried my hand day trading futures and could never make it work. The closest I've came to success is maintaining a steady 3x leverage in /MNQ with a stop loss under the prevailing trend on the daily chart, e.g., right now my stop is around 12600. As the trend continues upward, I just add contracts as needed to maintain the leverage and as the account grows. If I get stopped out a couple of times in a row and the leverage starts getting close to 4x, I drop a contract to bring it back down. Always looking to expand my horizons though.

each option has 5 variables: theta for time decay, rho for the risk free interest rate (generally irrelevant) vega for sensitivity to change in volatility of the underlying, Delta for ratio of underlying movement to option movement, and gamma, which is the rate of change of delta. 1 share has a delta of 1 and everything else is 0 because its a share. So i would short 1 call with a delta of 37 and long 2 calls each with a delta of 11. so 37 - 22 =15. I buy 15 shares and now my delta is 0. so small changes in price wont effect my portfolio at all. but because the gamma doesnt completely cancel out between the two options, the delta will change as the stock price moves. Im left with a gamma of 1, so for every $1 movement I would need to buy or sell 1 share to keep my delta at 0. Its all so simple and it really makes me wonder why more people dont get into this stuff. i cant tell if its actually profitable and the hedgefunds just kind of keep it a secret or if its all just a fools game. My current goal is to make 1% a week. which doesnt sound like a lot but if i could do that consistently for 20 years, my initial investment would 32,000x so $3,000 -> 90 million or 60k -> 1.8 billion. seems too easy right? i must be missing something or else every committed and educated options trader would be a multimillionaire by 40. or are they? has anyone here actually done this? im making over 1% a week but idk it just seems like im missing something
