An ETF is an instrument that you can buy shares of on a market. ETFs are funds, basically a big collection of individual stocks packed together (like an ETF for the S&P 500).
A stocks and shares ISA is an ISA account that can be opened with loads of brokerages and banks (but there's no point opening through a bank) that allows you to have a wrapper around your investment money to protect against capital gains.
I opened a s&s ISA through my broker app, Trading 212. You can put in £20k every financial year and any and all gains made within the ISA are tax free.
The short answer is you can buy ETFs with your stocks and shares ISA money.

Don't know this, I keep some safety money in VUSA in my portfolio which is up 10% since I started buying months ago. It's also in GBP so there's no loss due to FX rates.
There's loads of ETFs you can buy for whatever kind of market you're interested in though, most are available through a s&s ISA. TAN is a solar one that's a very good investment but I don't remember if it's possible to buy through T212's S&S ISA account. There's also one for emerging markets and for disruptive technology (don't remember the tickers).
If you want more gains with the diversification of an ETF and still a decent amount of safety you could consider Amazon. Their business is basically an ETF now with how many different market sectors they're involved with.
