Newcomers need to learn not to pay any attention to the silver price on Kitco.com, goldprice.org, etc. It's taken from a place called the COMEX, which is simply a paper derivatives market. In Chris Marcus's book "The Big Silver Short" the industry insiders whom he interviewed estimate that there are about 500 fake "paper" "digital" silver ounces for every real physical ounce in existence. The banks therefore are all extremely short silver (picture related is the latest COT data), up to 50,000% short. Compare this with the 150% short-float of GME. They would collapse if there was a run on physical. All they can do in the mean-time is keep shorting the paper price more and more until the ponzi scheme collapses, because they are backed into a corner from which there is no escape. The average historical daily wage in silver from the age of Pericles to that of Dickens or Henry Ford was about 1/10th of an ounce (https://lenpenzo.com/blog/id47735-historical-gold-and-silver-benchmarks-for-job-wages-and-commodity-prices.html)), so the fact that, on a historical basis, silver ought to be at least $1000 an ounce today (40x higher) is clear proof of hyper-predatory shorting. In fact silver has nearly been wiped out of existence because of it, which is probably one reason why the oligarchs started the Great Reset now, because they knew that the world was about to collapse into a new Dark Age from lack of silver. The market cap of investable silver is probably only a few tens of billions, simply keep buying physical and hold.

so other than silver and gold, what other metals are good to stock up on in the event they are needed for currency? I did find it very suspicious that in the middle of a pandemic/shutdown where no one could go out and buy things - and where people largely pay with cards that we magically have a coin shortage.

Are standard currency coins worth holding on to? Can any be melted down into something useful?

So I did some more reading into this whole Basel III thing, banks will need to store more physical collateral in order to stabilize banks in the event of another black swan event. Turns out they delayed the implementation of Basel III from 2018 to 2023.

I've heard about this back in 2018, however most likely they will keep extending the implementation because that would drive up PM prices significantly.

Do you think they will ever implement Basel III on the banking system? Nonetheless, despite paying $34 an ounce, I believe silver could head to $40-$50 an ounce over the next few years given some other fundamentals so I'm not too upset about FOMO'ing this weekend.

If you decide to purchase one please write it here. Don't buy them in the US, always from Europe only anon. The US breeders buy shit stock just so it's bigger than the European stock. Basically buying shit, outside of the standard just to have 200 lbs fog when the standard ends at 125 lbs for a male
There are also only a few really respectable breeders in Europe. This dog is not popular anywhere basically because it's hard to train and so independent but people breed them to sell them for fights/looks. You do not want a dog like that. A respected breeder will breed for personality and to standard
This is what you want, because crazy Presa is a dangerous Presa.
And you are more than welcome. I absolutely love these dogs for that one of a kind devotion that I never got with another dog. It's beyond normal doggie devotion and they are bread for this.

Here is another follow up regarding the whole Basel III debacle.

Someone posted this video discussing various factors involved in the "Silver Squeeze of 2021" movement for anybody who is interested in learning more about the macroeconomic effects that might push silver to higher highs over the coming months.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3N6NY_1p-BA&feature=emb_title&ab_channel=GoldSilverPros

TL:DR - Dont try to fight the futures/derivatives/comex markets as they are rigged to all hell and back as we've all noticed this week. Just stealth accumulate silver using a reasonable amount of your networth. [ Personally I'm at about 10% but that's my limit]

No premiums will settle down. I got a tube of 2021 ASEs for less than 25 per just a month ago. And even if premiums are still high, just buy PSLV. that is the best play, they are buying 1000 ozt institutional grade silver bars off the market and storing in their vault. You avoid premiums and actually hit them where it hurts. You can accept delivery when you reach equivalent of 10,000 ounces. Physical metal in the earth is obviously there but the high-grade deposits are now completely depleted, governments have only 3 weeks' mine supply in stockpile, and the COMEX probably has only a few tens of billions of silver at best if you discount the fake paper. Only about 100 million ounces of silver are available each year for investment in bullion which is a minuscule market cap of about $2.5 billion.

You have to calculate a correct DGR as well. The DGR is only 1:16 and it's going to go return to 1:1 like 1980. Do a DGR of 1:1 and a GSR of 1:14 and you'll get $1000 silver.

I guess the theory goes that quite a lot more Silver is locked up in things like jewelry, art, technology, and industry than is really let on. The other thing is there are a subset of people who buy silver and never sell it, effectively wiping it off the market for 40+ years. There is only so much "liquid" silver available at any time, and again, the theory goes that there is not nearly enough liquid silver available right now to cover a few whales wanting to take delivery or, perhaps even enough to cover the retail market.

On Tuesday, on the other hand, silver will fall significantly again. The reason: the increase in the required security per silver futures contract by 18 percent (initial margin).

'Investment waves in the precious metals sector are regularly broken by this means of increased liquid margins. For the sellers (establishment) the increased liquidity requirement is not a problem, for the rest of the market it is (to some extent forced liquidation). As a result, the silver price lost ground ', commented Folker Hellmeyer, chief analyst at Solvecon Invest, on the events on the silver market.

COMEX (which determines the spot price) trades silver futures which almost never get settled for physical silver.
Because of this, banks can essentially flood the market with IOUs for silver, driving the price down.

The problem for the banks is bullion dealers and mints everywhere are running out of silver. If they start demanding physical delivery everything goes tits up for the banks who dumped silver IOUs.

COMEX basically lets banks print fiat silver as long as nobody actually asks for physical delivery.

you also need to keep in mind that silver is a key component in a lot of electronics and modern military weapon systems. I forget which one but iirc theres a missle that uses like 15kg of silver. Countries dont stockpile it hardly anymore and the largest holders seem to be (((the banks))). They have been manipulating the fuck out of it to both print money and recover from other financial fuckups they make - thats why the ratio of paper certificates to actual physical bullion is like like 184:1. The price is artificially suppressed so they can move it around and change its value frequently to keep their costs down and make profit.

the idea is that when you expose how little there actually is on hand in bullion form it will cause its price to normalize to what it actually should be.

This in short will also wake a lot of people up to how bad inflation has become and how worthless the USD actually is. It will also cause the price of a ton of goods to skyrocket.

In short this is pretty much trying to pull an andrew jackson and kill the banks. Also when the inevitable hyperinflation comes (srsly like 2/3rds of our money was printed in the last 12years with half of that being in 2020 alone) you're setting yourself up to not be destitute both during the collapse and when shit starts stabilizing again.

Regardless of any impending squeeze, I think a lot of new people (myself included) got into physical silver which will drive demand up.

This seems to be a slow moving market, so I think we'll see things tick up over time. If/when USD crashes it will spike.

I still think there will be a ripple effect of all the buying this weekend.

Spot price is determined by the futures market on COMEX.
COMEX market is manipulated as fuck because it trades "paper" silver. In theory paper silver entitles you to physical silver, but there is ~500x more paper silver being traded than the physical silver that could be cashed out.

In practical terms, physical silver generally trades at spot price + a premium (basically the bullion dealers cut).
Right now premiums are sky high because bullion dealers have run out of physical silver due to all the silver shilling.

To be honest buying in right now is very risky. Premiums are sky high and the banks are still in control (for now).
Don't FOMO into this expecting GME gains.
PM markets is way bigger and way harder to squeeze.

You are probably better off waiting until premiums go down unless it's money you can afford to lose.
Silver could get manipulated down to $12 instead of squeezed to $50+.

I'm sad guys
I think this might actually be how humanity ends, not with nuclear war or some massive climate catastrophe but with millions of people sitting at home collecting fiat welfare and gambling on the crypto casino
Gold used to be what drove humans out to explore the frontiers and break the boundaries of the known world
just imagine if Gold was priced at $50,000 an ounce, we'd be mining the deep-sea and spending hundreds of billions on trying to mine asteroids and the technology we'd develop along the way would allows to colonize other planets
without Gold free from manipulation what even is there to rouse our expansion?

Gold is created only once every 10,000 years in the Milky Way when two neutron stars crash into each other, causing a kilonova and spewing out God's money across the universe for us to strive for but everyone is just sitting in their basement and "mining" magic internet beans while masturbating to hentai

That's why we have to run out the physical supply.
Supposedly there billions of oz floating around. It's a lie and the actual silver in existence doesn't represent what is listed on paper. More paper contracts is just digging the hole deeper.
Once we get to to point where we ask to buy the silver that they say they own but don't actually own, the price will correct itself to represent what is in physical existence. And that price is somewhere around $800-1,200

The people can feel just how bad the economy is, they've been buying Silver like crazy for about a month and before that fir a year the supply was smaller than the demand. To the point where the premiums become a normal thing.
All the while the Wall Street is loading up on fiat
This all isn't sustainable and will crash. I know that a lot of PM guys were talking about the imminent crash for years but unfortunately this feels like it's now. Max 5 years imo. Then we enter Venezuela tier economy but the US may balkanize by then so there will be better and worse states to live in. Copper is awesome to have and would be highly practical but the problem is the premiums. Copper is worth a couple bucks a pound (but will triple) but the premiums make it about 15 bucks a pound. So if you cna find a good source then by all means stack it.

Basically. This is relatively standard now due to coronavirus social distancing policies, they should have knocked/rang at least though.

Assets in general are already reacting to the unprecedented QE going on, you can ignore the paper trading of precious metals, it's the same result either way.

Anyone sitting in cash and is going to be absolutely rekt by inflation, right now its boiling the frog slowly
>"house prices are higher its a strong market hurr durr"
>"stock markets doing really well xD"

consider buying a rural property with some land to grow some food and live comfy so you can wait out the inevitable shitstorm coming.

Normal prediction: They'll slowly but steadily start to notice that their dollars buy less and less, that the stock market keeps reaching new highs but their yearly salary increases of 1-3% aren't keeping up with the increased cost of living but they'll go on about their lives because they were conditioned for decades to think inflation is caused by wagies making $15, instead of the government printing its way out of one crisis after another.

They'll then suddenly be told by a group of suits that we're abandoning the USD for the new Cryptodollar, which is a safe and secure way of transacting. So safe that in fact every transaction you make will be monitored and reported.

Tinfoil hat: Covid goes on forever, people realize they were getting played and life returns to normal. After a brief period of deflation (now) there will be a period of hyperinflation. 15, 20% inflation a year will be the norm very shortly as people can't get rid of their useless paper money fast enough, and they will have nowhere to run to.

Look at what the cost of an ounce of silver is in Venezuela today. Convert to USD. It's over $4,000/oz.
