Has anyone here heard of Thunderstruck Resources? AWE.V on Canadian exchanges, THURF on OTC. A quick rundown:
>market cap under 10 million
>owns 4 properties on Fiji's main island
>2 focused on zinc/copper, 1 on copper/gold, 1 on gold/silver
>1 of the zinc/copper properties is in a joint venture with JOGMEC, which is an organization under Japan's government
>2 of the other properties in joint venture talks, one basically guaranteed to be JV'd at some point in the future, the other one is also likely
>last property is the gold/silver property, named Liwa, which the company is keeping for itself for now
>they were supposed to be drilling Liwa right now but a cyclone fucked them up, drilling will restart in June at the latest
>drill results pending from the JOGMEC property

The soonest upcoming news would be the drill results or a new JV, both of which could help out the share price, especially if it's a big boy getting in on the JV.
Drill results from Liwa will probably be coming along later this year, but don't expect them any time soon. High hopes for it though
Check out Lion One (LIO.V) for another company on the same island not too far from AWE, but much father into development

Hi Stake Traders,

We have just received notification, our broker-dealer in the US, DriveWealth, will not be able to offer Buys on GameStop ($GME), AMC Entertainment ($AMC) and Nokia ($NOK) due to increased capital requirements set by the DTC.

Any buy orders on any of these symbols made after Monday’s close will automatically be cancelled prior to market open Tuesday.

To be clear, this is not a decision Stake has made. As DriveWealth is our broker-dealer, we can only reflect the securities they make available. As such, we are unable to confirm when this may change.

If you’d like to understand more about the DTC and capital requirements, we’ve provided more information here - https://hellostake.com/featured-post/understanding-trading-suspensions/

Units are warrants (CFIIW) plus shares (CFII) and are generally a lot less liquid than the other two - they're just how things are doled out to the founders of a SPAC at the start.

Warrants (CFIIW) you can think of as calls/LEAPs, usually for an $11.50 strike with an expiration of "after the IPO".

So CFII if you just want shares, CFIIW if you're feeling spicy.

Why the fuck do people think ARK funds are very risky and leveraged ETF tier? This is ARKK compared to QQQ, notice how the drawdowns are quite similar, as is the risk-adjusted return and US market correlation. Is it contrarianism or is there something else behind it? I figure most of these people just don't understand ETFs and think that it eventually has to crash because of how well it has been performing.

In before:
>TSLA
Only 10% of the portfolio at most. TSLA going to zero would only wipe out a few months of returns and there are ARK funds without any.

Personally I think the DD is strong enough to suggest the squeeze is still on the table, accelerating even, but I'm hedged well enough with options spreads targeting late feb and early april when this should all be ending that I won't be taking any real losses if it just slams into the ground without squeezing.

to keep people from selling some equity at the end of the year at a lost for tax purposes then buying it back again at a similar price after getting the tax deduction. The wash sale rule is all about cost basis. If you sold something for a loss then bought it back again with in the time period, that loss is added to your cost basis so you can claim it as a loss on your tax returns. So, I think the rule is that if you finalize your losses once and for all (finally selling it and holding off from buying that same equity or a similar one with in the time period) it is counted as a capital gains loss.

It depends on what the hedges do. Reddit and everyone they've brought on board with the program is actually fucking hodling, which is frankly astounding to me. Someone mentioned earlier that Fidelity is showing a 6 to 1 buy-sell ratio which confirms that and trade volume is way, way down. The hedges could try to keep driving the price down with ladders; not hard to do, people might keep buying up their shares when they do this though. There's starting to be a significant problem with actual shares available for purchase. I've been told that they have to push the price all the way down to $6 to fully cover the shorts and this is a strong argument for holding until the squeeze finally hits.
I'm staying in the game, but again, I've hedged my losses and will continue to do so. Still looking to buy more March 5 bear spreads and calendars.

You can say it's beta chasing and that caring about risk is boomer shit but the fact remains that TQQQ is truly beta chasing and has much more systemic risk that is inherent in the leverage. That same strategy also works for ARKK, selling it near the 200 DMA and swapping it for a leveraged ETF and you don't risk being absolutely fucked by a black swan event or losing 20% on minor corrections. It's just simply a better investment long term and doesn't require as much management.

selling OTM calls on GME seems a bit too damn risky right now (even if it's a proper credit spread, there is still risk of call assignment), plus strikes are $5 or $20 apart, meaning a lot of collateral for not a lot of premium

On the other and selling puts right now seems perfect since GME is undergoing correction.
Volatility is high = high premiums
Put prices for far OTM options are still high. Selling ITM options basically has no extrinsic premium right now.

I doubt my $6 GME puts are going to be ITM in 2 weeks; and even if they were, i wouldn't be too mad at that price. Buying the $5 puts just allows me to reduce collateral cost to $100 and rinse and repeat multiple times.

Look, I give tough love to people. No sugar coating of the hard in your face data here. I personally find it annoying that its so simple. The research is out there and its been known for years that the optimal returns are (a) of an index and (b) leveraged to a ratio of about 2.5. That is why all the leveraged vehicles are 2x or 3x and not 4x or 5x. And the point is that beta chasers (which are most hedge and mutual funds) are really just going to underperform that. It is a logical (hot hand) fallacy to put human input into the equation and assume they will keep making dunks.
>I disagree entirely, nothing skullfucks ARKK on a risk-adjusted basis.
See, it doesn't matter. The returns from ARKK and TQQQ are so correlated that you can open up (and rebalance into) a small long vola holding (not a leveraged one) that would give you the sharpe "missing" from holding ARKK.
This whole market and rally is correlated with Nasdaq, so best to ride that bitch hard and use part of your BIGGUS DICKKUS gains on fixing your sharpe ratio. I speak into the simp void here that loves their big beta chasing slut. But I want to plant that idea here now to you and any lurkers.
TQQQ is the cheat code of ETFs for this current market and has been since 2009. Ignore at your own peril.

SPAC is a public shell company designed to take a private company public through a "merger". With SPACs you are basically investing in the team that runs it, that they can have a successful IPO with a private company. The share prices fluctuate because of rumors and deals of taking different private companies public. Unfortunately there is no sure thing because these IPOs can fail, the SPAC may not be able to find a company, and the company they take public might suck. Probably best to avoid these all together because I don't see them as intrinsically more valuable than regular stocks unless you really, really like the people who run the SPAC.

Are you SOXL shill? "Optimal" 2.5X leverage assumes you have money to buy the dips or DCA since without it you would have gotten fucked during an event like the dot-com bubble and you're backtesting based on one of the greatest periods for stocks of all time with short bear markets. Without having more money to put into leveraged index funds you're very exposed to wiping out much of you account and taking years to recover. It's a myth that it's impossible to outperform the market long term, it's just very difficult at an institutional level. I would have to lose 300k just to get back to the point I would be at if I bought TQQQ in 2019 when I started with 10k, and now with safer investments bought with my profit it's very unlikely my lifetime total return will ever be average or lower. It just doesn't make any sense for me to take on much more risk and actively manage another part of my portfolio for the slight increase in performance.

For what they are ARK funds are based. They may not have the highest return but they're a better option than leveraged funds for most people, specifically those who don't really know what they're doing which is 99% of the people here.
