Didn't get too much attention in the last thread so will just repeat it at the start of this one. The COMEX just now raised margin requirements by 18%. Means that they're desperate and trying to crush the price. They did the same thing to the Hunts in 1980. See "Hunt for Silver."

https://s3.amazonaws.com/camppictures/CampArchive/Economy/Hunt%20For%20Silver.pdf

In 2011 they did the same thing again, and crushed silver by raising margin requirements 5 times, and then spoofing the price into oblivion. (See Chris Marcus's interview with CFTC commissioner Bart Chilton.) Raising margin requirements keeps small traders out of the market, and forces large traders to get rid of their contracts. It causes the market to be illiquid and cash poor. It gives power to the omnipotent predatory big 8 banks which are 50,000% short. Means that there are fewer people to fight back against them.

Need to get the word out to people that all this paper-price nonsense is derived from the COMEX. And educate them on what the COMEX is and the fact that silver is only so cheap because of this predatory shorting. Makes no sense for the average wage in silver to be about 1/10th of an ounce per day from the age of Pericles to that of Dickens or Henry Ford and then suddenly lose 99% of its value.

greenhorns opinion so take it with a grain of salt the size of the state of Nevada but I honestly doubt it. Silver however will for a good long while probably be a bit more expensive per ounce due in part to the sheer demand for physical silver right now and the lack of current supply available both online and in stores.

Yeah, that's when they weren't profitable. They're debt-free, stockpiled U3O8 a la Neuymayer with silver, plus the entire uranium sector is facing a bullrun and the largest producer closed down their main mine due to COVID (CCJ). And they're exploring getting into monazite, and vanadium (which they already started to do). it's a solid company today. they went through growing pains and the uranium bull market was hard on a lot of other miners as well.

I know GPL rode the general wave today (which was great to see, I'm not complaining), but a lot of this silver squeeze shit has me thinking it's just going to be a PnD like GME, AMC and the other memes that have caused a lot of normies to FOMO their live savings into something they don't quite understand and wind up regretful.

I have been shilling some close friends on how to invest in metals for some time now and know I'm still leading them down the right path. Don't want them buying high if that makes sense. On the other hand, everything that's been going on has all the fundamentals for building a huge bull case for stacking regardless. We absolutely know a crash is right around the corner.

All they can do is keep fighting the inevitable. Silver is _the_ silver bullet to kill the New World Order. They can only completely control us if they can debase the fruits of our labour by printing infinite fiat money which _we_ choose to use. A rising silver price is a direct threat to the dollar. That's why the banks started shorting silver in the first place. But it's a vicious circle. They have doubled down on the silver shorting to such an extent that they are now 50,000% short, and silver has almost been wiped off the face of the earth and lost 99% of its historical price. They can't stop this now, it's like the GME shorting, all they can do it short it more and more because if they took the pressure off they would be destroyed. They will go to any length to fight us. They will try to delay the silver squeeze until they can implement the Great Reset and completely enslave us.

The bullion banks that have been shorting silver have been making a lot of stready money since 2011. They will not close their positions unless the pain is too high. $30 is probably going to take a long time to properly punch through for good just as $25 was.
The higher this goes, the more desperate the remaining shorts will be. People buying physical directly or by proxy (PSLV) will win the battle especially given all the tailwinds: record money printing, record deficit spending, eternal ZIRP, asset bubbles, etc.
There will be turbulence ahead but there will be an opportunity to buy for cheaper. The premiums right now are absurd and so now just have to wait for the volatility going forward.

This gives me at least something I can explain to them. With all the insanity going on in the broad market for everything, it's attracted the attention of normies thinking "this is my ticket out of this shithole." I told myself I'd stop stacking if silver ever reached $50 an ounce. I know it'll be ages before we see that (if I had to guess, 2023 or a year or so after once the reality of 0% interest sets in conveniently with an election year). But we know while the pumping is legitimate due to crazy demand, there's a sense of it being just a fad. I guess trying to explain that this is the most sound and secure way of investment is difficult when you have fucking reddit in the national spotlight and the general population following whatever they do blindly right now, only for 99% of them to be left holding bags. Trying to save them from themselves if that makes sense.

On the plus side, I can always say, "well it's reddit, now you know not to listen to strangers in the internet lol."

So as a newfag to pmg and silver, please let me know if this is a shit take.
It actually seems like the actual price of physical ag after premiums is going to continue to move away further and further from the spot price. The spot price looks like its being held artificially low with the supply/demand for physical being as unbalanced jt is right now.

not a bad take for a newfag. Yes, the divergence of what you are talking about would have happened anyways even if WSB never covered it due to BASIL 3. Basil 3 is the key to understanding the silver time line due to >>27441168. Even if they say they have 2000000000 oz on comex, they have a clause allowing them to settle it in cash.
I personally expected this slow ramp up to happen in april may time, but WSB accelerated it. Newfags on WSB have no idea about the COMEX rules, and will get fleeced by wallstreet since they do not follow CME rules on placing derivatives. I am now seeing a $30-34 floor being priced (including premium) on silver due to wsb, and it may go up more. However, $50 dollar silver will be the conservative base w/o wallstreet bets when june 20ish hits.

Maybe certain items will return to reasonable prices faster as people are able to sell back to bullion dealers, but right now everybody is in buy&hold mode.

I haven't seen much discussion on "why" there is a short on silver. What benefit does JPM and others have by keeping the value of silver down?

If they have the majority shares of paper silver, would they not want the price of that to rise? I don't seem to understand in what scenario a company concerned with making billions would not want their millions of shares to be worth millions? So how does suppressing the price help them?

I just don't understand how this short works. What lack of faith does JPM have in silver? That doesn't even make sense. All current and near future tech companies rely on silver to make their products and silver is finite. Clearly there is a demand. What does keeping the price low do for them?

The bankers use a derivatives market called the COMEX to manipulate the price of silver. 500 digital ounces of silver are traded back and forth for every real ounce held in the vaults. Equivalent to fractional reserve banking. The banks heavily short silver here. So much so that they would go bankrupt if the physical was taken delivery of. The regulators said when first setting up silver-trading on the COMEX in the 70s that the purpose was to scare off the average investor with suppression and volatility. Don’t let them beat you. Adjusted for inflation, silver should be $966 (ShadowStats).

If you buy silver, only buy either physical coins or if you do go with ETFs, PSLV. DO NOT buy SLV.

PSLV: Run by billionaire silver-bull and banker-killer Eric Sprott, fully audited and backed, with a delivery mechanism at 10,000 ounces for anybody

SLV: Scam with no proven metal, run by JP Morgan, only a few big banks have access, delivery for 500,000 ounces only if you're a big bank, can pay you out in cash in case of a default

If you can't buy PSLV then buy AG (First Majestic Silver). It's the next GME. Support the squeeze on this company which has a 30% short-float. The bankers are trying to punish CEO Keith Neumeyer, who refuses to supply the COMEX.

>What does keeping the price low do for them?

You deposit your FIAT dollars into a JP Morgan Chase branch. Say you have $10 dollars there, and you put it into a savings account.

Due to the magic of Fractional Reserve Banking, 9 of those dollars get loaned out to other people. JPM gives you 0.1% APR interest on your savings, while extorting 20-27% from the Credit Cards you're funding for them.

US Treasury Bonds are at basically negative yields compared to inflation at this time, which means that if you want to even get a bit of a return on your money, you will have to move it into the volatile stock market which funds the insane bubble we're on because there are practically no appreciating safe havens left. Your money in the stock market benefits the big banks, because they're also investment funds.

If the price of silver were a natural product of supply/demand, people would see it as a great way to store their wealth and still make some cash year over year on it in case they needed to liquidate, as the price should appreciate more than inflation. This is extremely dangerous to the banks because, of course, they need your money to fund their debt pyramid scheme. If you don't have dollars deposited, but keep your wealth in Gold or Silver or other physical assets outside of the banking system you're starving them of funds.

This is why they don't give a rat's ass about being fined 1B for market manipulation of precious metals. That's a drop in the bucket of the insane profits they're raking in by pushing the narrative that metals are volatile and poor stores of wealth, etc. They need your paper dollars in the system to survive. They have insane leverage on your money, while you don't get any benefit from their ransacking of your bank account.

It's not about the price of Gold/Silver as a profit-generator for them. They make a hell of a lot more money by keeping the prices low so that most people do not choose to move their money out of the banks.

The big bullion banks have been accumulating silver since 2010, not getting rid of it. OPEC does price fixing to secure profits. Big bullion banks do it to accumulate inventory. They still get it trouble.
I don't think it is a stretch to think of the government as being extremely disinterested in pursuing it in any great detail. The COMEX was started in part to prevent price discovery and allow for further expansion of deficits and printing.
If gold was 5000/oz which is still a fraction of what it should be if US debt was redeemable in gold than most people would be better off quitting their jobs and panning for gold in rivers and streams. A single ounce would give them what 2-3 month of their minimum wage job would.
Gold and silver are controlled to give the impression of slight inflation (good for CONSOOM narratives) but not enough that it signals the end of productive economic input being in dollars.

Okay, that makes sense. But only for silver, not for gold.

Gold has steadily kept pace with inflation. A 1oz coin worth $30 in the 1920s would get you the same service that this same 1oz coin, now worth ~$2000 would get you.

So Gold can easily be seen as a good store of wealth by everyone and it doesn't seem to be suppressed at all since it's so fucking expensive.

Silver on the other hand seems to be suppressed, and your answer for why it is corroborates that. But gold doesn't fall in line with this reasoning.

See >>27443587 for an exact reason why JPM is going to do it again. These (((institutions))) have been using MSM for the longest time as well to help with the manipulating, and now it's more blatant than ever. They're literally calling anyone holding or buying GME an "financial terrorist" and pic related is being spewed. So they'll gladly take another fine for these reasons.

I don't think they realize what kind of awakening people have had the last month. It all started (I think) with that January 6th capital raid. It showed people you absolutely can rally behind something and take on the enemy in numbers. Trump was a lightening rod for energy: the lefts hatred for him and the MAGAtards zeal for him. Now all that energy has no conduit. Biden has been "business as usual" and both sides don't want it. Now they're finding ways to make (((them))) honest. But (((they))) we're never honest to begin with.

Buckle up, lads.

Honestly dude, to answer your question to your satisfaction requires going down a deep rabbit hole that makes certain hard to believe presuppositions about the direction of human society and who is controlling that direction and for what purpose.

> You need to know the history of money and banking, specifically starting from roughly the rise of the merchant City-Sated (Venice, Genoa), through the Age of Discovery and Age of Sail, into the modern industrial revolution, with focus on the transition from a gold standard to fiat currency.
> You need to know who was involved and why
> You need to have understanding of how fiat currency works today; how it is created and destroyed
> You need to know what the various classes of financial instruments are, with extra focus on derivatives
> Modern Politics, although it's hard to find reliable information now

Anyways, once you have a grasp on the above, you might come to the conclusion as to why keeping PM prices down is important to do.
Short answer: fiat works because most people have "Faith" in the system. Fiat money is only worth anything because collectively humanity does, it has no intrinsic value as a currency besides the fact the government says it does, and we 'elect' the government, so by extension the people say fiat has value. PMs have intrinsic value as currency. If people lose faith in the system for any reason, fiat becomes worthless as currency, and PMs value skyrockets because PMs have intrinsic value as currency. If you want fiat to remain the only viable option, the prices of metals cannot be pegged to your currency. You want to suppress the value of metals so that they do not look like an attractive alternative to the current system.
Silver is very undervalued because it's price is based on huge market manipulation, not its real fair market value. Silver has intrinsic value as currency, but also, and maybe more importantly in the future, value in its uses in industry and technology.

The other side of the coin on Silver is that it has a much larger industrial footprint than Gold does. Keeping its price low artificially also helps the electronics, and many other industries as you were already discussing, so I can absolutely see a big push by some of the top electronics manufacturers to side with the banks on this. They both win. Notice how Elon Musk tweeted out every single meme stock or PND last week but hasn't said a word about the Silver squeeze. I don't blame him as a businessman, but it's telling.

Gold isn't as manipulated, I agree with you, but I still think there's plenty of suppression in the paper markets because, again, people would want to move their fiat currency into Gold if it appreciated according to the macroeconomics.

I don't agree with the purchasing power of Gold being more or less the same though. I don't have the source now, I think it's in one of Mike Maloney's videos where he talks about the number of ounces of gold required to buy an average house in the 20s or 30s, versus what it is today. The average price of a new home is something around $260,000 - 130oz of Gold as of today.

The issue with going back before 1971 is that Gold had a fixed exchange rate of $35. So obviously the number of ounces of Gold will be at a fixed exchange rate for dollars, so it's difficult to infer from that. You can see the trend reverses very quickly after that, once the real price of Gold was set free.

To be honest, your latter paragraph makes a lot of sense and isn't that difficult or weird to grasp, even for a normie.

I guess the only further thing to comprehend is what gives gold/silver their intrinsic/inherent value. In modern times, I can see how silver has value since it's used in all electronics and this likely won't change in the near future. But what about gold?

And importantly, what about in the past? Why was gold and silver worth what they were worth back centuries ago? There were no solar panels or tesla cars that required silver. No one understood the atomic properties of Au/Ag. And gold was too soft to be used in any metalurgy that had a use outside of jewellery. And plus, if gold's only value was that it was shiny, there are plenty of shiny yet abundant metals.

So what is to say that the same thing with fiat doesn't happen with gold/silver?
