The GME fiasco was funny and still is, however that game is in the fiat arena.
Yes I see both sides as I've been monitoring these threads for the last few months and especially the last few days.
What is happening next in my opinion, and I invite shills to argue this, is that now that people are buying physical silver, it's making banks and others who on paper have a X amount of silver in storage, but as we have learned with the fiat fractional reserve lending, the actual amount of physical holdings could be at minimum 1 oz per 150 oz on paper.
For example with our banking system if you have 1000 dollars in the bank, the bank can loan out 900 of that 1000 because the rule is keep minimum 10 percent. They then gain interest, and it compounds. The guy who gets the 900 dollar loan, now has 900 dollars in his bank account.
That is a seperate account of yours with 1000.
So now the guy with 900, doesnt know it, but the bank has kept only 10 percent of it in holdings, and loaned out another 810 dollars to person 3.
Out of that 1000 dollars, a new total arises. 2710 dollars. Imagine this on a global scale!

The problem here that the banks have is during a squeeze they can just get the federal reserve to print more fiat money on loan ( creating even more money and inflation ).

So the problem with silver is they cant just print more bullion, as it is in physical supply, with a limit mined on earth, tied in with waste product and lost silver and technology increase, shows that the banks will never be able to provide that much silver and have to close up shop!

I'm not the most articulate but that is my current understanding.
Tie in the fact silver and gold have always been currency for thousands of years versus a fiat babylonian magic square, only been in the game 50 years.

This is obviously what is going on right now.

1) WSB was a genuinely grassroots movement which found out how to crowd-short-squeeze hedge-funds and banks. They did this with GME.

2) Then the silver squeeze, as being the ultimate short-squeeze, was a logical progression of this. GME was short 150%, but silver is short 50,000%. It gained traction. Both the left and the right were united.

3) The original WSB silver thread said to buy PSLV and AG and physical and avoid SLV, but the mods censored it.

4) A new thread was then created shilling SLV and attacking PSLV and AG; mods left it up.

5) "Citadel fud" begins when people show that Citadel is long SLV, which is completely irrelevant.

6) Whole of WSB starts attacking silver, nothing but anti-silver threads on the front page.

The plan:

7) GME falls apart, short-squeeze community is bitterly divided, silver is given the blame, kills momentum in the silver short squeeze as well.

Don't let the bankers win. Keep buying silver.

What i mean is that they're basically making the lie even bigger, and it will have an even more catastrophic effect once it crashes down. Which is probably the same thing with fiat, considering all the money that was printed last year.

Blue Lagoon has 2:1 high-grade silver to gold in the ground and is about to start producing, Nicola Mining has 30 million ounces of ultra-high-grade silver in a permitted silver mine with its own permitted mill, Irving has 400-year-old classic Japanese silver mines with an élite management team, but they aren't going up today because they don't have "silver" in the name. Last chance to buy them for the discerning.

Just read this from @EpsteinResearch about Blue Lagoon:

"I've gotten to know the Blue Lagoon Resources CEO over the past several weeks. He's a very serious person who works all the time and is highly driven to make Blue Lagoon a huge success. Not just driven for his own pride, he put a lot of friends & family into $BLLG. It's very important to him and his followers that this deal works out well. He thinks there's a good chance it will work out very well, not just well. I get the sense he can bring more cash (himself and through his network) to fund the Company if need be. That's a key consideration for any junior miner. To be clear, the Company doesn't currently need cash because they have over C$5M in the bank and zero debt. Drill results in about a month could be big. "

Yes, and in fact, this is already the case. A fair price for silver is about $1000 an ounce, and that is historically verifiable fact, but the predatory 50,000% shorting has almost wiped it off the face of the earth; so it might even go to $5000 for all we know.

Yes and no. It will obviously stall for time, but it will also undermine confidence. Someone with big balls might ask for a delivery anyway, and get denied. Another will ask, and also get denied.
Pretty soon people ask well, if I can get the actual thing delivered, this paper is worthless. Lawsuits might happen, strings will be pulled. I would imagine that it would take quite a bit more time to unravel the web of deceit regarding silver, and it will be much more protected. In the end I think industry will crack the nut as they still need the stuff, and if banks/hoarders won't deliver they will have to resort to miners and retailers to get their supply which will drive up the price of real silver until the big players release some into the market to keep the price down. They'll only be able to do that for so long until a critical mass of people (not banks/NWO financial institutions) demand delivery. A run might happen anytime or not at all depending on what's going on. I imagine Russia and China would want to crash the system with a PM run considering they have a fuck ton of it.

All of this is exposing the markets, the economy and the Wall Street and how rigged it is against the regular people. I have a feeling that silver will go above 2011 levels. We are witnessing the beginning of bull run.

Age 5, in 1992. Got completely serious and extremely autistically motivated last February. Not sure how much I've spent on PMs but would estimate an average silver cost of around $18/ozt for over 4,000 ounces now. With my gold and numismatics, at current eBay retail it's probably worth near 200 grand today. Mining stock/option portfolio is around 35k today. I would have bought more miners in March if I was sent back to do it over again but I thought a global collapse was a distinct and immediate possibility at the time and preferenced hard assets in-hand, no regrets though.

I'd wait and see what happens. Quite honestly I expect one of two things from the WSB surge: 1) It spikes maybe 10% - 20% and then dies out in a fizzle. In this circumstance, you want to wait before resuming purchases. 2) It spikes very high, over $50/oz and maybe higher, but ultimately crashes back down to $30/oz or lower. You should be preparing to sell some of your silver as it nears and/or crosses $50/oz and buy it back when the price crashes.

The least likely scenario is that the price spikes over $50/oz and stays high. I think the WSB trade is going to take about 3 months before its full effects are seen and known. However, I think all the hype right now is people piling in anticipating a GameStop-like surge. I don't see that happening because the short position and depth of the silver market is nothing ike GameStop.

If I could make one recommendation, it would be to not panic-buy. I don't think prices are going to run away and stay high forever.

Everything is about 20-30% above spot price. Is this just hype or are physical prices normally like this?

I'm not a private buyer I work in a trade basically and I had a problem buying today. I bought for myself, sure, because I don't usually buy pure but I had a working relationship with this particular refiner for years now. I'm just a short drive away from home and ho to see them.
They were positively spooked today and stopped selling to the private buyers around an hour in the day.
They are scared shitless of the shortages.
And I heard them talking, a year ago already to try and go around the Switzerland's chokepoint so they don't have to rely on the mints.
Last year the wait for them (and they service the Southern US) at the mint was 5 weeks, and then the price got crushed to $12/ozt.
This is when a mini-revolution happened on the commercial market and the premiums become a normal thing.
For the people selling PM's this bull run would be great if it haven't come with the fucking shortages. When they can’t buy they can’t sell. The miners market is more and more monopolized and the chokepoint in Switzerland is yet another bullshit creation to prevent a free market.
So I completely agree: this needs a reset because this is the crucial market and it's more manipulated than any other and that included crypto and GME (doesn't even touch it)

Anon this market exist, the refiners market but it's mainly used by the commercial, business users. Apmex refines and so do others. The Apmex bars are produced from it as far as I know.
A lot of people also scrap their jewelry. This is very rarely mentioned but this is how I make my living. I buy jewelry from a refiner at scrap and sell it at a markup. I don't refine myself but my refiner, a local family company, does.
They go through a shit load of it and yet there are shortages still.
Funny thing last year some asshole accused the refiners and Silver sellers of manufacturing a shortage. I guess they couldn't say anything about the Swiss refiners cause that would be antisemitic.
The thing is that for the last 15 years the shortages were never that long and yet the price of silver did not budge. This is all a scam, driven by the paper market of course but not many people are talking about it.

There isn't really any actual info in that post is the problem. It's just vague numbers. I don't think that 15:1 is a sustainable ratio for gold/silver because we have always mined more silver than gold, so each year the ratio should be a little higher. But you simply can't expect stocks like that to be totally fungible.
Silver (and gold) jewelry has been fucking decimated over the past 50 years. I don't think I've ever seen anyone wear more than a couple ounces of silver on them at once.
But it's kind of the same as people saying gas prices can't rise because people are pumping more oil.

Silver could hit 60-90USD an ounce within year or two. It is a good hedge against a bad economy, much like crypto.

Your not going to get rich quick hoarding silver however, but it will keep you mentally propped against a bad market. Personally I have some silver stacks to compliment my long stock positions. If markets are bad, silver goes up, if silver goes down then markets are up. You are supposed to diversify your wealth across multiple asset classes, not pile all in using every last dollar hoping to double your stack in a month. This is not crypto, this is a fundamental position based on real tangible value.

Redditors and normies are just economically illiterate.
They think that SLV=PSLV= physical. They also think that Citadel stacks kilo bricks in their HQ.
They don't know anything about COMEX, deliveries and paper to physical ratio.
They are just easily manipulated retards who went all in GME and they subconsciously know they will be left holding bags.
They are in denial about reality.

>do shills really?
While the guy who asked the original question is making regular purchases (dollar cost averaging), he asked the question because the spike in prices and the incessant hype has shaken his resolve in some manner.

I offered an opinion and the strongest advice I gave was to not panic buy, which in the anon's case could mean buying far more than he normally would for fear of prices only going higher and never being in the $20s or low $30s again. I laid out what I thought were the most likely scenarios and what *I* would do in those scenarios. Unfortunately, due to the nature of this board, I did not make it clear that what I do may not work for other people. I am able to take the actions I mentioned because I acquired all the silver I want years ago and haven't bought any meaningful quantities of silver in years.

It is, for now. But it's going away anon.
The people who bought GME already have been called all the names that 4chan gets called on the regular basis. They know they aren't racists, they know they aren't Nazi. For now they are shocked but sooner or later it's going to result in numbness coupled with anger.
On /pol/ today there was a screenshot of Redditors suddenly realizing that the media lies. They were shocked just how much. It was funny to me because it's the truth, something I no longer even question anymore.
What we are really witnessing is a mass awakening of the regular people. This cannot end well, but it also cannot get much worse desu

Nicola is immensely more undervalued than Viscount, but I'm not sure when it will get traction. /pmg/ is the only place that even knows it's a silver stock and a near-term silver producer. (People here could change that if they did some work on ceo.ca. I don't post there.)

Viscount is definitely getting more attention now so the momentum will be there in the short-term:

I bought 20 1 oz coins from my local bank before they stopped trading silver on Saturday.

After factoring shipping / taxes / security / hassle and matching other prices, $40CAD an ounce was a good deal for me, works to about 10% above spot price, hefty premium but well worth it long term if this snowballs into a movement.

Online prices are already hitting 40-55$ USD
