Blockchain companies that created their own apps on top of their own contracts, over time they found that other DeFi contracts are using it via the blockchain, driving revenue that didn't even route through their own front end. The problem is that people ape into blockchain without thinking of security, and the kinds of problems you encounter in decentralized systems are the kinds of problems you would never anticipate, and the only way to understand those problems is to dedicate a large amount of resources to it. Sergey said resources. It's not enough to simply be intelligent and reason about the systems. It requires some of the most rigorous mathematical theories and cryptographic software and analysis tools to handle each different possible edge case. World class researchers are needed to formulate and command these tools.

Now imagine being in Chainlink's position. Every meaningful DeFi contract that comes into the space that is secure should by definition use Chainlink price feeds, since it is secure. Therefore, the more people build securely, the more the profit from existing services offered by Chainlink grows automatically, the more profit they make simply by maintaining their system.

The most challenging development space has the most rigorous intellectual team pushing it to its furthest edges, and they stand to monetize every step of the way.

For me, it's Chainlink. The best cryptocurrency. I even buy extra in the smallest dip and the price increase just keeps on its spirit to oblige.

One time I bought Chainlink for 50 cents. I said, "Chainlink for 50 cents!" and the nice friendly Binance worker laughed and said, "Wow, Chainlink for 50 cents!".

Now the Binance staff greets me with "Chainlink for 50 cents" and ALWAYS give me three extra LINK over a purchase of 100 or more. It's such a fun and cool atmosphere at my local Binance currency exchange, I go there at least 3 times a week for buying the dips and accumilating in lower price periods, 1-2 times for buying more LINK on the weekend, and maybe one extra time when I'm in a rush but want a great cryptocurrency exchange that is fast, and can match my daily cryptocurrency needs.

I even sold my BTC for CHAINLINK, it's amazing! What a great cryptocurrency.

We spent a lot of time doing research, looking for breadcrumbs and thinking of ways an exciting new technology could change the world. Of course this would make us emotionally invested. And the truth is, we've seen great returns on it. But now it's the time to cut ties, and look at link for what it is.

So far chainlink has underperformed to a great extent. There are plenty of other solutions for this "oracle problem" in 2021. And this massive industrial adoption has been a slow rolling snowball. In these types of environments there isn't a single company that "rules them all," if you will.

We are likely to expect is a number of different ways that apis access data. Doesn't it seem logical that massive companies would decentralize their oracle networks? You would most likely see a SWIFT or Google using chainlink, band, and api3 all at once so they get the most reliable answer.

Additionally, there are plenty of other exciting and new problems to be solved that didn't exist in 2017. This isn't something to be sad or depressed over, but to be embraced as tue blockchain technology beings to enter its way into our daily lives.

I won't kill myself when it goes to $1000. For trends, it depends on your goals. For trading, I like to buy low and sell high, and funnel all profits into LINK. For staking, I would stick with incentivizer pools that are single-asset deposits rather than LP token staking, so you don't get exposed to impermanent loss. From there, if you verify the contracts yourself by looking at them on etherscan, then you're pretty solid in terms of risk reduction at that point. You can get literally free money from going through contracts all day long. It's fun to watch the numbers go up, chasing high apy, but it sucks to pay gas fees and it's even worse to hold bags of worthless shitcoins. Don't ever buy a token that someone else can get for literally free by staking. Be the staker who gets the literally free token and sells it to the other guy. I don't do that stuff because it's pretty soul crushing to ride the defi scam merry go round after a while.

The current winners in defi will continue to win unless the system breaks and it doesn't work anymore. There really is no telling what happens going forward, because there's no reason to assume any of the winners will even exist tomorrow. Ethereum could have a critical 0-day exploit that no one has noticed yet, and someone could possibly cripple the entire network, and another blockchain could replace it entirely. Current winners in defi would entirely be wiped out if Eth gets fucked. I don't think Chainlink has the only monopolistic factor. They're all trying to take over the world. What about Consensys? Any traffic routed through Metamask goes through one company. As long as these winners don't fuck anything up, I think it's unlikely another movement will be started that would be required to recreate the whole system they have, though, because it's just too complicated. So they're likely to stay for a long while.
