If you're still wanting to add to your physical collection, but not at mooning spot prices, then buying mining stocks may be another option. Both First Majestic and Bayhorse have expressed intent to issue shareholder dividends in physical silver (if the investor desires), and I imagine many other miners will follow suit. Plus, you get the benefit of leverage to what can only be a rapidly climbing silver price. Win-win, in my opinion. While the entire world floods into the extremely limited, increasingly-more-expensive world of physical, you can use capital to purchase mining stocks and may perhaps get physical delivered to you in time after these mining companies increase in value many fold.

As for where to look for gold it depends on what and where you live, in Appalachia, placer gold can be found as flakes in streams but no major nuggets will appear for the most part. The gold comes from igneous intrusive structures that have likely since been obliterated by later glaciation. Look in steams where bedrock appears, especially around large boulders. Bedrock cracks filled with packed gravel and moss is pretty good too.
