Anyone have any plans for a market down turn?
If it ends up being like March, I will wait to get into bonds since those dumped along with stocks.
Looking into short term
>SQQQ
>VIX
>UVWY
Longer hold
>TMF
>VGLT or VGIT
Then buy up any old positions I dumped or reinforce existing positions.
Anything else to consider?

If your broker bans you from buying GME on Monday, just buy GAMR instead. It's an ETF that is 27% GME right now. It moves similarly to GME and buying options in GAMR will give you a similar effect.
Pic related shows the charts stacked to highlight the similarity.

DD - Grand Canyon Education Inc. (LOPE)

GCE is a $4B dollar educational services that has an exceptional balance sheet and was on a growth trajectory before the pandemic. That said, they weathered the pandemic without issue because of their low debt and fat cash base (quick-ratio over 2).

Their revenue took a hit from the pandemic, but I expect revenues to return as things go back to normal. They appear to have had strong operating margins as well. This is one to eye-up on any kind of pull back as the downside is relatively low - again, owing to their strong balance sheet.

LOPE has a debt-ratio of 0.16
LOPE has a quick-ratio of 2.26
LOPE has a longterm-debt-equity-ratio of 0.09

After reading more about this shit earlier today it seems like what happened was this:
>when amerisharts make an account on RH it automatically lets you go on margin for $1K or whatever the amount is unless you manually decline/turn it off
>people bought shares using margin moneys
>RH was in their full right to close positions because of this
Maybe I've misunderstood this, but it sounds completely reasonable. RH got margin called so all the people who were spending on margin got their shit sold.
Anyone to confirm?

Additionally: I've seen people say they had stonks sold without them having set a stop/limit. Has this happened to ANYONE who was in on cash only, not on margin?

Ok, so maybe the Melvin guys weren't really lying. The Ortex data showing short interest drop from 1/26 to 1/27 coinciding with the massive and sudden price dislocation upward on 1/27.
If new shorts entered the game it would have been near the highs, possibly selling into the forced buying of what I'll just assume was the overnight Melvin squeeze and into the early market hours on 1/28. Possibly aggressive momentum shorting on top of the Robin Hood BS, the bots, and the networking issues came together in a perfect storm with that HFT ladder attack on the vertical dive. But in case your smooth brain hasn't noticed GME mooned and now 27% of the value of GAMR is from GME. GME moon == GAMR moon. If people think GME is gonna pump and can't buy GME then buy GAMR to get a similar effect. Consequently, the more GME moons, assuming it does, the more GAMR will correlate with GME since the fraction of its value coming from GME will increase.

Daily advice you to take a look at the Norwegian air shuttle at this point (AFTER late feb 2021/new stock batch issue). It's also heavily 737max and corona stricken company, but it has many advantages.

1. It just released recovery plan (that will mean slower recovery to lower heights, so don't salivate over the past performance, that won't be actual for several years if ever again)
2. It is pretty important service in the north of Norway and will be always to some extent supported by the government. They just applied for more help and it looks very much like they will get it. The state today (21.1.2021) agreed to support the company again.
3. ! BEWARE! They will be issuing new batch of stocks soon to cover a part of debt, so the price of the stock will be going down first! Wait after the release! I expect the price to actually drop to some 8-10NOK! Likely even less. I wouldn't want to buy now and hold bags for months!

But at that point the price will be at it's lowest. And the company will be operating 50/150 planes with a realistic recovery plan. It will ofc depend on corona fucking off at some point. If we are still in lockdown for whole 2021, it might bankrupt, but that's kinda overall issue for all of us now..

22.1.2021 we got a simple .nfo that The Irish extended the time for decision about anti-bancrupcy cover until late feb 2021 and noted that the save plan looks solid.

I myself am now watching the price reactions in hope that I will get rid of some bags to buy more later. I will likely be holding a few bags for several months before it recovers. I believe the company survives and my average price of NOK 73 will get to some 200-500 during months after corona.

Also... just to be sure... we are talking NAS.OL ticker here. NOK here means norwegian crowns, not Nokia ticker.

I got some genuinely good advices and pitches here, so this is my contribution to our meme portfolio of corona related gambles.

Retards in finance collude all the time and NOTHING happens, e.g. so-called idea dinners and the case a while back where retards were fixing the precious metals market over their Bloomberg terminals. You do realize that if Robinhood let the huge amount of buyers keep on buying, they might have sold shares that they didn't have which means that their clearing house would have to pay out of pocket with money they don't have, which they would obviously refuse to do? You would currently have cried "MUH MANIPULATION" if they had allowed you to buy aswell FYI. Why do you think Webull had to also block buying when the huge influx of buyers came over there instead? Were they also manipulating shit? No..
The fact that Robinhood didn't do a better job explaining this, I still think they will get fined for halting buying like they did which clearly led to the GME price crashing and people losing money, but it was not manipulation in the sense you and the reddit brainlets are spamming about.

i like to buy in 5x the ATR increments below the 200 hour simple MA and cover half at a return to my first entry if i buy more than 1 position, and i split my money 5 ways for it, if that helps. feel free to backtest it yourself, it's a pretty comfy way to invest. i usually don't ever put all of my money into it but that's fine because i never need a stop loss, that's sorta the point (instead of a stop loss im using position sizing to manage risk). if i ever put all my money in i just hold until it goes back up again, because as long as things in the company remain the same i know they will make new ATH's eventually.

just make sure to keep track of world events (in case another black swan like covid comes around) and keep up to date on FA on the company to make sure it continues to be solid. i usually like to look for what catalysts/hype events it might have coming up (like CES or earnings), get in low, and sell on the pump. you can also do this with other companies you believe in. management is a big deal, lisa su is really solid.

No, dipshit, follow along with what actually happened and not the latest CNBS headline. Some brokers went down temporarily, some increased margins. Robinhood was by far the most egregious and preemptive. The series of events as they played out supports the thesis of Robinhood being manipulative as opposed to what happened with the other brokers. You are either deluded or are falling into the trap of trying to cover their actions by creating a false equivalency between all the brokers where there absolutely is none.

My argument is that they didn't collude in an open way you're describing it as because
A. It carries 20 years in prison
B. They're not losing their own money
C. If some random faggot noticed it then why didn't he bag millions from tipping off the sec

So much for your homo-erotica fanfiction

Vlad, Melvin, Andrew, contrarian /x/-schizos, whoever you guys are IRL, listen. People make mistakes. Your buddies colluded and it will come out. The Robinhood IPO is dead. Robinhood's customer base have lost faith in the app. People all over the world see the undeniable fact that while the poor were locked out of expressing their opinion in the capital market, the rich were allowed to party on buying and selling as they saw fit. Those rich hedge funds that had the most interest in buying and selling while the plebs were locked out just so happen to be deep in the pocket of Robinhood in the form of paying RH for their order flow. The same company that funds Robinhood is the same company that bailed out Melvin to the tune of 2.75 billion dollars and had a stake in future earnings of the company. Vlad did multiple interviews from his house surrounded by his own devices that he had control of any of which could be use to pass messages off the record. It happened, ti will come out. The whistle will get blown apologee will do time. Don't drop the soap
