Hey guys so I just bought some silver from my banking account I don't know about you guys in the US but in Turkey we can buy I guess you could call digital gold/silver I don't know the real term for this and I can withdraw or deposit precious metals into the bank I read that I can withdraw silver at 1 kg or 50 kg as in the form of granules. So is this buy causing any short squeeze type of scenario or should I withdraw that when I reach 1 kilo? oh btw premium are high rn so 1 oz of silver is roughly at $39 in here

It sounds like you bought some etfs that are redeemable for physical bullion. You should look into the fine details again and make sure you can actually receive the physical bars instead of a cash payout. Another question is if you do redeem it. Are you capable of storing your pms in your home? Or, would you be willing to have it sit in your bank? Both have its own risks. It really depends on what situation is best for you.

4 oz of physical silver delivered today, ~20 oz in the safe, 6 more oz on the way.

Taking out a $2k loan -- $1000 for an emergency Bayhorse buy, $1000 for upcoming expenses, some of which will go to refurbishing a used car, which I will then sell and put towards my debts. I would rather put it towards more Bayhorse, but I'm trying to buy a house before things get crazy, and I need to look good on paper for the bank.

Fuck, I hate being poor.

Just switched brokerages to Schwab so I can buy Bayhorse. I might honestly drop off a physical check at the local branch on Monday just to get some funds IN there so I can start buying while I wait on the direct deposit verification process.

Okay, so I need some clarification here because I don’t really understand some things regarding physical silver:

>JP Morgan owns the majority of SLV
>JP Morgan has also been shorting the price of silver for a long time

Why?

How does it benefit them to keep the price low if they own the majority? In what fucking world does that make sense?

>How are they shorting? Who are they loaning from and selling to?
>And how are they keeping the price down? What process is taking place that is keeping the price down?
>Demand is huge since all tech companies need it, and supply is low since SLV apparently out numbers physical silver many times over
This means the price of physical silver should be high, but it’s not. But what mechanism is creating this low price?

>Say we somehow buy up all the physical silver, what happens if we short squeeze?
>Specifically, what do we now do with all of our silver that’s worth $5000/oz?
>Just walk to the store and pay with a 1oz coin for some milk?
>And if the economy is so fucked at that point where we will be paying with silver, well then how do you intend on keeping your stock of silver while also paying for things? It’s not like you can mine and forge coins? And you’ll have like, at most, a few hundred coins?

tl;dr Mainly, how has this been happening, and what is the plan long term once the squeeze happens?

>How does it benefit them to keep the price low if they own the majority? In what fucking world does that make sense?
The number of futures contracts that a body can take is based on the amount of silver they have eligible for delivery. The bullion banks have a lot of silver that they sit on with no intention of delivery but it allows them to perpetually make money shorting due to their large reserves. JPM started doing this in 2009 when they "inherited" the assets from the Lehman Brothers at a firesale.
The idea is that as silver price begins to rise they leverage their large positions to paper slam down the price of silver, triggering stop losses, and allowing them to buy back the contract at a lower cost to cover the short. This low price makes it unattractive as an asset and allows most long positions to be settled in cash.
The entire system is opaque and its difficult to tell how much silver is actually eligible for delivery since the bullion banks are just sitting on client stores. So people actually getting the physical metal creates a pressure for dealers to go long on their contracts and require delivery instead of settling in fiat so they can sell the metal to meet demand. Because as a bullion bank, they would lose two fold. First, metal would begin being pulled out of their reserves when they know the price should be much higher. Second, most of these shorts are a step further and are really naked and if a long requires settlement in cash they are on the hook.
Buying into SLV is basically buying into more paper since JPM was not only a manipulator for years but it is unclear if they actually have any of the gold they claim. The audits are done by a third party known for money laundering and no one outside other big bullion banks can redeem shares for metal in the vault. It smells of collusion.
I don't think the recent attempts to short squeeze AG, SLV, and to a lesser extent PSLV will do much long term. There needs to be sustained demand.

silver is critical for modern life. the prices are artificially suppressed while the industrial usage skyrockets. all electronics, including tesla(and soon other companies mass producing EVs), solar panels, computers, phones, and home appliances require silver en masse.

there's only a certain amount mined every year and soon industrial use will surpass what is pulled from the ground.

when normalfags realize the true value of silver it will be the most sought after commodity in the world.

Gold going up in value is really a statement that the dollar is dying. Silver likewise even though there might be an undervalued component to it.
Regardless you could still buy a few ASEs if the premiums don't get too crazy. Those not only retain value easily but also appreciate from coin collector demand over time.

Futures and SLV ETF are DESIGNED to discourage people from touching the actual metal by giving them paper or the fear of paper go down. Just need to get everyone on board with buying anything near spot that they can. Silver getting cleared from the dealers will create higher demand (and premiums). Once the momentum starts, it will sustain itself until the bullion banks have to close their short positions.

If your budget is that limited, cover the basics first:

1) Water
2) Food
3) Some savings in cash for liquidity
4) Precious Metals as investment/inflation hedging/shtf

Gold would be nice, but you'd be getting raped by fees if you buy fractional bullion, so focus on Silver first. Get a couple ounces every month. 60oz puts you in the top 1% of potential holders. If the premiums on ASEs are too high, consider non-minted bullion to buy it cheaper (although ASEs an Maples hold their value better and have better liquidity).

If silver gets hit now and the people succeed it would be a complete sucker punch to the system. That's why this must not fail. If us dollar goes back on gold standard ( and of course our "leaders" didn't fuck us over and secretly sell our gold like it's speculated that Clinton did), we could literally save our economy and abolish every evil, slimy, corrupt practice that our deep state engages in.

Banks manipulate the price down so they can buy it cheap and accumulate it. Stick around here. You'll learn more. This is all explained and proven in great detail. For proof Google "jp Morgan silver manipulation" and you will see they were struck with a fine and a warning this year.

The real conspiracy though is that some people think that the banks are secretly accumulating precious metals on behalf of the US government, because if the US government started buying metals en masse it would collapse the dollar.

>ASE's are American Silver Eagle's, I'm assuming?
Yes they are 0.999 silver and some of the most liquid (i.e. easy to buy and easy to sell) coins in the world. Dealers will charge premiums to sell and typically take under spot when they buy from you but ASEs have a nice numismatic appreciation which cushions that. But even more than that, you can usually sell easily on EBAY, at swap meets, etc. for full spot. But because of their liquidity the premium can be higher.
The alternative is "junk silver" with purities usually at 0.6 and below. These coins were previously used AS money but no longer. These coins can be found very close to spot especially in volume if you want the metal as "cheap as possible". Selling them can be clumsy but it is a discount way to get a lot of metal.
If you want to see a good deal right now, I'd go with this: https://www.moneymetals.com/radio-check
At spot but with the disadvantage of shipping + VAT/capital taxes depending on where you live.

If your savings are in a savings account right now, the bank is literally paying you 0.01% a year interest on your money while it loans out 9 out of 10 of your dollars to other people - yet they are being paid 20-27% interest via their credit cards, 4% mortgages etc., using YOUR money as collateral.

Real inflation is upwards of 8%, despite the FED screaming that they simply can't raise inflation fast enough to meet their 2%/yr target. Each day the banks are printing more money and diluting the value of your savings; inflation is a stealth form of taxation.

You put your money into a Treasury bond and the FED will make sure you see real negative rates - so you're not making money there either, you're actually paying them to hold your bags. You put it in the stock market at the height of a bubble, and you might as well go to a casino. You buy an investment property - same exact shit. You buy into Bitcoin at the top and by tomorrow you'll be down 25%.

Gold/Silver are still undervalued, historical and trusted stores of wealth. I'm not an anti-crypto puritan like many here on /pmg/ but I will echo their calls that a big enough collapse that takes down the global internet renders your crypto completely worthless, whether it's a project with real use or just a meme "store of wealth" like Dogecoin that doesn't do anything special.

Gold & Silver might go down in value, yes, but don't think of them as ways to make money. If they're down in price, it means the economy is healthy and not volatile. When they go up in price, that's exactly when you want to hold some.

T. someone in a similar position that dumped 50% of his savings into PMs a month ago.

In 1980, the Hunt brothers (sons of Texas oil tycoon H.L. Hunt) attempt to corner the world silver market. At the peak, it is estimated that they held 1/3 of the circulating silver supply, and they pushed the price per tr oz from $6 to $49, an increase of over 700%. Silver has never reached that price since. This event was known as Silver Thursday and the brothers suffered slight damage to their reputations and had to pay civil damages of $134 million (possibly more, idk).

In 2021, silver has now emerged as one of the "meme" investments; #silversqueeze is trending on twitter in several countries. This is on top of a massive increase in consumer interest in bullion over the past thirty years. However, silver's price has barely budged, still being lower than in August of last year. Can someone explain how, in a year with low production already due to covid-19, that thousands of retail investors are barely making a bump in the price of metals, while a handful of rich investors, who only had a collective net worth of $15.3 billion, were able to cause a bubble? It is known that there is manipulation in the metals market (J.P. Morgan was fined $920 million last year), but this seems irregular.

It should be noted that I have not changed my holdings at all in regards to commodities, I don't look to profit from this (although it'd be great if I did). Just looking to get a clearer picture.

I’m going for ETFs including JP chase. These guys are buying silver coins that won’t be able to sell.

They tell you that chase is keeping silver artificially low so they can accumulate it. They also tell you they have none so don’t buy $SLV or others.

They have the silver or the feds would have blown them up last sept and oct as the market manipulations and fraud was being uncovered.

The silver price WAS being kept low it’s a fact that is going to court and 4 JP chase execs will be sacrificed for it.

The question is how do you best win when the price goes back to normal now that the feds are sniffing around and taking a BILLION dollar cut?

If there is more fraud they will be stopping to save their ass or they will get caught. Either way silver is going up.

The $SLV is a trust that was supposedly moving too much silver around given you can’t move that much silver around that quickly. There isn’t that much silver as they say and this the silver they do have is worth way more.

I’m going for ETF silver as you can sell it and you don’t have to haggle with a vendor who also has bills to pay. Sorry, physical is just not going to as efficient.

I do love the coins though

No one is buying your dogshit SLV scam.

It already went to court and JPM got a slap on the wrist fine that didn't cover one month of the profits they were making on spoofing, and as soon as the judgement came down, they went right back to it. The manipulated the price and are TACITLY BEING ALLOWED TO BY THE US GOV.

THE REASON THE GOV ALLOWS IT, IS BECAUSE THEY ARE BUYING FOR THE GOV. Get physical now or get destroyed in the new money paradigm.

It will take an hour or so at 1.5x speed but watch Mike Maloney's "7 hidden secrets of money" on Youtube to understand how the banking system is fucked.

Like I said, PMs are not a guaranteed way to save your purchasing power (if tomorrow we achieve world peace, prices might drop - although not too much, since industry still needs Silver as the second most used material after oil). But they're, along with real estate, the most solid way to do so. It's just that RE is also in a bubble at present.

Mining company that's been a very long up-and-coming project that hit a few snags over the years and left a bad taste in people's mouths. It could be the play of the century if it pans out, or could crash and burn. If it works out though, big gains to be made.

IDK if Gold is going to run up as fast as silver, probably not - so the gold miners will probably lag.
But we're nearing the end of the correction, I think. Maybe another month if there's one more 'fuck you' BTFO drop before heading on the next leg up, or maybe it's already done correcting and we're good.
